Tumor do estroma gástrico em doente jovem

Resumo

Os autores apresentam o caso de uma doente internada por episódio de hemorragia digestiva alta com origem num tumor do estroma gastrointestinal (GIST).

Salientam o facto de se tratar de uma jovem e a importância da eco-endoscopia no diagnóstico e caracterização deste tipo de tumores.

A propósito do caso clínico, fazem uma breve revisão do tema.

 

Summary

The authors present a clinical case of a patient hospitalized for acute upper gastrointestinal bleeding originating from a gastrointestinal stromal tumour (GIST).

]]> They highlight the young age of this female patient and the relevance of endoscopic ultrasound both in diagnosis and in characterization of these sorts of tumours.

This clinical case serves as a springboard for a short review of the topic.
