A aplicação da escala visual é simplificadora, porém o uso do luminómetro, método de Bioluminescência de Trifosfato de Adenosina, é promissor no controlo da higienização.  Objetivos:  Avaliar a eficácia do processo de higienização das superfícies.  Métodos:  O estudo observacional prospetivo foi realizado numa unidade crítica, durante cinco dias consecutivos. A técnica de amostragem foi não probabilística por conveniência sendo aplicada a escala visual e o luminómetro, antes e após a higienização das superfícies. O processo de higienização foi realizado pelas mesmas assistentes operacionais, recorrendo ao método de dois passos e produto detergente/desinfetante.  Resultados: A amostra inclui 300 observações (150 antes/150 após) nas áreas touch selecionadas. Das 131 observações, para valor satisfatório, 56 foram mensuradas pelo luminómetro e 75 pela escala visual. Para valores não satisfatórios, 169 observações, 94 foram mensuradas pelo luminómetro e 75 pela escala visual. Após o processo de higienização, das observações com valores não satisfatórios, 31 foram identificadas pelo luminómetro e 18 via escala visual. As diferenças significativas localizaram-se para valores não satisfatórios (&lt; 500 RLU) no luminómetro e para valores satisfatórios ( &gt;500 RLU) na escala visual.  Conclusões:  O método ATP apresenta-se como um recurso educacional e de monitorização/ auditoria efetiva na mensuração da qualidade da higienização das superfícies high touch, impondo-se validar a sua contribuição na prevenção das IACS.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  Introduction:  Health care associated infections (IACS) have been related to the presence of multiresistant microorganisms on the surfaces and it is necessary to monitor their hygiene to ensure environmental safety. The application of the visual scale is simplifying, but the use of the luminometer, Adenosine Triphosphate Bioluminescence method, is promising in the control of hygiene.  Objectives:  Evaluate the effectiveness of the surface cleaning process.  Methods:  The prospective observational study was performed at a critical unit for five consecutive days. The sampling technique was non-probabilistic for convenience, being applied to the visual scale and the luminometer, before and after the hygiene of the surfaces. The hygienization process was performed by the same operating assistants, using the two step method and detergent / disinfectant product.  Results:  The sample includes 300 observations (150 before / 150 after) in the selected touch areas. Of the 131 observations, for a satisfactory value, 56 were measured by the luminometer and 75 by the visual scale. For unsatisfactory values, 169 observations, 94 were measured by the luminometer and 75 by the visual scale. After the hygienization process, from the observations with unsatisfactory values, 31 were identified by the luminometer and 18 by visual scale. Significant differences were found for unsatisfactory values (&lt;500 RLU) in the luminometer and for satisfactory values (&gt; 500 RLU) on the visual scale.  Conclusions: The ATP method presents itself as an educational and monitoring / auditing tool to measure the quality of hygiene of high touch surfaces, and it is necessary to validate its contribution in the prevention of IACS.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen  Introductión:  Las infecciones asociadas con la atención de salud (IACS) se han relacionado con la presencia de microorganismos multirresistentes en las superficies, es necesario controlar su higiene para garantizar la seguridad del medio ambiente. La aplicación de escala visual se simplifica, pero el uso del luminómetro bioluminiscencia trifosfato de adenosina método, es prometedora en el control de la higiene.  Objetivos:  Evaluar la eficacia de las superficies proceso de limpieza.  Métodos: El estudio observacional prospectivo se llevó a cabo en una unidad crítica de cinco días consecutivos. La técnica de muestreo no se aplicó conveniencia probabilístico y la escala visual y el luminómetro antes y después de la limpieza de las superficies. El proceso de limpieza se llevó a cabo por los mismos asistentes de operación, utilizando el producto detergente método de dos etapas y / desinfectante.  Resultados: La muestra incluye 300 observaciones (150 antes / después de 150) en áreas seleccionadas tocan. De las 131 observaciones para una buena relación calidad-precio, 56 se midieron mediante el luminómetro el 75 por escala visual. No valores satisfactorios, 169 observaciones, 94 se midieron por el luminómetro el 75 por la escala visual. Después de que el proceso de limpieza, las observaciones valores insatisfactorios fueron identificados por el luminómetro 31 18 a través de una escala visual. Las diferencias significativas se localizaron no valores satisfactorios (&lt;500 RLU) en el luminómetro y valores satisfactorios (&gt; 500 RLU) en el rango visual.  Conclusionnes:  El método de ATP se presenta como un recurso educativo y el seguimiento / auditoría para medir la calidad de la limpieza de superficies de alto contacto, imponiendo validar su contribución a la prevención de las infecciones hospitalarias.]]></p></abstract>
