Objetivo: Analisar a relação entre a atividade física e o rendimento escolar nos estudantes do ensino superior.  Métodos:  Realizou-se uma revisão sistemática da literatura. A seleção de artigos, com data de publicação entre 2015-2020, foi feita em plataformas informáticas, nomeadamente: PubMed e B-On. Na análise dos estudos tiveram-se em consideração os critérios de inclusão definidos.  Resultados:  A análise dos artigos que constituíram o corpus de análise desta revisão integrativa da literatura (n=3) indica unanimidade quanto ao facto de haver relação entre a prática de atividade física e o rendimento escolar de estudantes do ensino superior. Ficou confirmada a existência de uma associação significativa entre o nível de atividade física moderada e vigorosa e um melhor desempenho académico, comparativamente aos estudantes com níveis mais elevados de inatividade física.  Conclusão:  Os resultados sugerem que se estimule a prática de atividade física em estudantes do ensino superior, por potenciar um melhor rendimento escolar e consequentemente facilitar o desenvolvimento das suas competências sensoriais, motoras, cognitivas e emocionais.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  Introduction:  Higher education students who participate in regular physical activities tend to demonstrate better attributes, such as increased brain activity, better concentration and energy levels, which can support greater cognitive development  Objective:  To analyze the relationship between physical activity and academic performance in higher education students Methods: A systematic literature review was carried out. The selection of articles, with publication date between 2015-2020, was made on computer platforms, namely: PubMed and B-On. The analysis of the studies took into account the defined inclusion criteria.  Results:  The analysis of the articles that constituted the corpus of analysis of this integrative literature review (n = 3) indicates unanimity as to the fact that there is a relationship between the practice of physical activity and the academic performance of higher education students. The existence of a significant association between the level of moderate and vigorous physical activity and better academic performance was confirmed, compared to students with higher levels of physical inactivity.  Conclusion:  The results suggest that the practice of physical activity in higher education students is stimulated, as it promotes better school performance and consequently facilitates the development of their sensory, motor, cognitive and emotional skills.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen  Introducción: Los estudiantes de educación superior que participan en actividades físicas regulares tienden a demostrar mejores atributos, como mayor actividad cerebral, mejor concentración y niveles de energía, lo que puede brindar un mayor apoyo para el desarrollo cognitivo.  Objetivo: Analizar la relación entre actividad física y rendimiento académico en estudiantes de educación superior.  Métodos: Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica sistemática. La selección de artículos, con fecha de publicación entre 2015-2020, se realizó en plataformas informáticas, a saber: PubMed y B-On. El análisis de los estudios tuvo en cuenta los criterios de inclusión definidos.  Resultados: El análisis de los artículos que constituyeron el corpus de análisis de esta revisión integradora de la literatura (n = 3) indica unanimidad en cuanto a que existe una relación entre la práctica de actividad física y el desempeño académico de los estudiantes de educación superior. Se confirmó la existencia de una asociación significativa entre el nivel de actividad física moderada y vigorosa y un mejor rendimiento académico, en comparación con los estudiantes con niveles más altos de inactividad física.  Conclusion: Los resultados sugieren que se estimula la práctica de actividad física en los estudiantes de educación superior, ya que promueve un mejor rendimiento escolar y, en consecuencia, facilita el desarrollo de sus habilidades sensoriales, motoras, cognitivas y emocionales.]]></p></abstract>
