Objetivo: Mapear as evidências existentes sobre os efeitos da implementação de programas de Reabilitação Respiratória em crianças com asma entre os 6 e os 12 anos.  Métodos:  Revisão sistemática da literatura com base nos princípios preconizados pelo Joanna Briggs Institute. Foram pesquisados estudos publicados entre janeiro de 2015 e julho de 2020 em diferentes bases de dados. Dois revisores independentes realizaram a análise de relevância dos artigos, a extração e síntese final de dados de 5 artigos.  Resultados:  Os estudos incluíram essencialmente duas componentes da Reabilitação Respiratória: atividade física e exercício aeróbico. Os benefícios dos programas tiveram foco sobretudo ao nível do controlo da asma, da função pulmonar e da qualidade de vida da criança e da família.  Conclusão:  Os benefícios da RR em crianças com asma são uma evidência, com destaque para a função pulmonar, controlo de sintomas e qualidade de vida. A conceção e implementação de novos programas de RR serão um contributo valioso na promoção da saúde e qualidade de vida das pessoas.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  Introduction:  Asthma is a chronic disease characterized by inflammation and obstruction of the airways, with a high prevalence and impact on the life of the child, the family, and the community. still incipient form.  Objective: To map the existing evidence on the effects of implementing Respiratory Rehabilitation programs in children with asthma between 6 and 12 years old.  Methods:  A systematic review based on the principles advocated by the Joanna Briggs Institute. Studies published between January 2015 and July 2020 in different databases were searched. Two independent reviewers carried out the relevance analysis of the articles, the extraction, and the final synthesis of data from 5 articles.  Results:  The studies essentially included two components of Respiratory Rehabilitation: physical activity and aerobic exercise. The benefits of the programs focused mainly on asthma control, lung function, and the quality of life of the child and family.  Conclusion:  The benefits of RR in children with asthma are evident, with emphasis on lung function, symptom control, and quality of life. The design and implementation of new RR programs will make a valuable contribution to promoting people's health and quality of life.]]></p></abstract>

Objetivo:  Mapear la evidencia existente sobre los efectos de implementar programas de Rehabilitación Respiratoria en niños con asma entre 6 y 12 años.  Métodos:  Revisión sistemática de la literatur basada en los principios defendidos por el Instituto Joanna Briggs. Se buscaron estudios publicados entre enero de 2015 y julio de 2020 en diferentes bases de datos. Dos revisores independientes realizaron el análisis de relevancia de los artículos, la extracción y síntesis final de datos de 5 artículos.  Resultados:  Los estudios incluyeron esencialmente dos componentes de Rehabilitación Respiratoria: actividad física y ejercicio aeróbico. Los beneficios de los programas enfocados el control del asma, la función pulmonar y la calidad de vida del niño y la familia.  Conclusión:  Los beneficios de la RR en niños con asma son evidentes, con énfasis en la función pulmonar, control de síntomas y calidad de vida. El diseño e implementación de nuevos programas de GR supondrá una valiosa contribución a la promoción de la salud y la calidad de vida de las personas.]]></p></abstract>
