Estas são, tipicamente, actividades de relação da ciência com a sociedade. Porém, têm sido muito mais desenvolvidas pelas ciências naturais do que pelas ciências sociais. Perante este paradoxo, um conjunto de investigadores do Centro de Investigação e Estudos de Sociologia (CIES-ISCTE) procurou, no quadro do programa Ciência Viva, ensaiar actividades de divulgação científica da sociologia, baseadas na participação experimentalista dos públicos em actividades de pesquisa, em contacto directo com os investigadores e os contextos de investigação. Neste artigo analisam-se essas actividades, os seus actores e processos, e as suas repercussões, ao longo dos primeiros anos em que se realizaram. Discutem-se também os fundamentos teóricos deste tipo de promoção da cultura científica, procurando-se ultrapassar as limitações tanto do chamado “modelo do défice” como das “críticas standard ao modelo do défice”, a favor de uma análise da divulgação científica tal como ela se faz.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[In recent years, this country has seen the extensive proliferation of activities promoting scientific culture. These are, typically, activities that relate science to society. However, they have been developed to a much greater extent by the natural sciences than the social sciences. In the light of this paradox, a group of researchers at CIES-ISCTE (Centre for Research and Studies in Sociology), has sought, within the framework of the Ciência Viva/Living Science programme, to test activities involving the dissemination of sociology. These are based on the participation of the publics in research activities, in direct contact with researchers and research contexts. This article analyses these activities, their actors and processes and their repercussions throughout the first years in which they were implemented. It also discusses the theoretical bases of this form of promoting scientific culture, attempting to overcome the limitations of both the so-called “deficit model” and the “standard criticisms of the deficit model”, in favour of an analysis of the dissemination of science as it is really carried out.]]></p></abstract>

Il s’agit essentiellement d’activités concernant la relation de la science avec la société. Or, on constate qu’elles sont beaucoup plus développées par les sciences naturelles que par les sciences sociales. Face à ce paradoxe, un groupe de chercheurs du Centro de Investigação e Estudos de Sociologia (CIES-ISCTE) a voulu lancer, dans le cadre du programme Ciência Viva/Science Vivante, des activités de divulgation scientifique de la sociologie, basées sur la participation expérimentaliste des publics à des activités de recherche, en contact direct avec les chercheurs et les contextes de recherche. Cet article analyse ces activités, leurs acteurs et leurs processus, ainsi que leurs répercussions, au long des deux premières années de leur mise en œuvre. Ante esta paradoja, un conjunto de investigadores del Centro de Investigação e Estudos de Sociologia (CIES-ISCTE) buscó, a través del programa Ciência Viva, ensayar actividades de divulgación científica de sociología, basadas en la participación experimental del público en actividades de búsqueda, en contacto directo con los investigadores y los contextos de investigación. En este artículo se analiza esas actividades, sus actores, procesos, y sus repercusiones, a lo largo de los primeros años en que se realizaron. Se discuten también los fundamentos teóricos de este tipo de promoción de la cultura científica, buscando sobrellevar las limitaciones tanto del llamado “modelo de déficit” como de las “críticas standard al modelo de déficit”, a favor de un análisis de la divulgación científica tal como ella es hecha.]]></p></abstract>

Il s&#146;agit essentiellement d&#146;activit&#233;s concernant    la relation de la science avec la soci&#233;t&#233;. A pesar de esto, se han desarrollado m&#225;s en    relaci&#243;n a ciencias naturales de que a ciencias sociales.
