Para isso sintetizam-se resultados de pesquisas recentes realizadas em Portugal no campo da Sociologia da Educação, ilustrando os vasos comunicantes que estabelecem com o quadro referencial daquela obra. Daremos conta dos modos de relação das classes sociais com o sistema educativo, salientando aproximações e desvios face à matriz dos autores franceses. Discutiremos os avanços, contradições e insuficiências da educação compensatória. Concluiremos pela atualidade de A Reprodução, mas sob condições e adaptações, gerando novos horizontes de indagação que permitem reconstruir a teoria sem a destruir. Apesar de existir ampla abundância empírica que comprova a transmutação das desigualdades sociais de base familiar em desigualdades escolares e destas, novamente, em desigualdades sociais, constatamos que existem mudanças que advêm de políticas educativas e da feminização do acesso e sucesso escolar. Sugerimos um investimento em pesquisas que promovam a articulação entre escalas de observação (micro, meso e macro) e a interseção e consubstancialidade de desigualdades sociais (classe, género e etnia).]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This article seeks to discuss the extent to which Reproduction (Bourdieu and Passeron, 1970), 50 years after it was published, remains current for the analysis of the relations between social space and the educational system in Portuguese society. To this end, we summarize the results of recent research carried out in Portugal in the field of Sociology of Education, illustrating the communicating vessels that they establish with the referential framework of this work. We will give an account of the ways in which social classes relate to the educational system, emphasizing approximations and deviations from the matrix of French authors. We will discuss the advances, contradictions and shortcomings of compensatory education. We will conclude by the timeliness of Reproduction, but under conditions and adaptations, generating new horizons of inquiry that allow us to reconstruct the theory without destroying it. Although there is ample empirical abundance that proves the transmutation of family-based social inequalities into school inequalities and these, again, into social inequalities, we find that there are changes that come from the educational policies and the feminization of school access and success. We suggest an investment in research that promotes the articulation between observation scales (micro, meso and macro) and the intersection and consubstantiality of social inequalities (class, gender and ethnicity).]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="fr"><p><![CDATA[Résumé Cet article cherche à savoir dans quelle mesure, 50 ans après avoir été éditée, La Reproduction (Bourdieu et Passeron, 1970) est toujours actuelle pour l&#8217;analyse des relations entre l&#8217;espace social et le système éducatif dans la société portugaise. Pour y répondre, il synthétise les résultats des recherches menées récemment au Portugal dans le domaine de la Sociologie de l&#8217;Éducation, en illustrant les vases communicants qu&#8217;ils établissent avec le cadre référentiel de cet ouvrage. L&#8217;article rend compte des modes de relation des classes sociales avec le système éducatif, en soulignant les rapprochements et les écarts par rapport à la matrice des auteurs français. Il aborde également les avancées, les contradictions et les insuffisances de l&#8217;éducation compensatoire, pour conclure à l&#8217;actualité de La Reproduction, mais sous certaines conditions et adaptations, en générant de nouveaux horizons de recherche qui permettent de reconstruire la théorie sans la détruire. Malgré l&#8217;abondance empirique qui atteste de la transmutation des inégalités sociales de base familiale en inégalités scolaires et, de nouveau, de celles-ci en inégalités sociales, nous observons des changements qui adviennent des politiques éducatives et de la féminisation de accès à l&#8217;école et de la réussite scolaire. Il suggère un investissement dans les recherches qui démontrent l&#8217;articulation entre échelles d&#8217;observation (micro, méso et macro) et l&#8217;intersection et la consubstantialité des inégalités sociales (classe, genre et ethnie).]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen Este artículo discute hasta qué punto La Reproducción (Bourdieu y Passeron, 1970), 50 años después de su publicación, sigue siendo actual para el análisis de las relaciones entre el espacio social y el sistema educativo en la sociedad portuguesa. Para ello, sintetizamos los resultados de recientes investigaciones realizadas en Portugal en el ámbito de la Sociología de la Educación, ilustrando los vasos comunicantes que establecen con el marco referencial de este trabajo. Daremos cuenta de las formas en que las clases sociales se relacionan con el sistema educativo, destacando las aproximaciones y desviaciones en relación con la matriz de los autores franceses. Discutiremos los avances, las contradicciones y las insuficiencias de la educación compensatoria. Concluimos que La Reproducción sigue siendo relevante, pero bajo nuevas condiciones y adaptaciones, generando nuevos horizontes de indagación que permiten reconstruir la teoría sin destruirla. Aunque existe una amplia abundancia empírica que demuestra la transmutación de las desigualdades sociales de base familiar en desigualdades escolares y éstas, de nuevo, en desigualdades sociales, encontramos que hay cambios que provienen de las políticas educativas y de la feminización del acceso y el éxito escolar.
