Aquela cultura materializa-se principalmente nas grandes cidades e em espaços públicos que podem ser ao mesmo tempo periféricos e de grande visibilidade. Reconhecendo que esta forma de expressão não perdeu suas características de génese, tem sofrido alterações que, acompanhando mudanças sociais, políticas, culturais e económicas das sociedades, propõe um olhar renovado sobre o potencial que encerra de educação para a cidade. Com o suporte teórico das perspectivas do materialismo histórico-dialético, a questão à qual neste artigo procura responder é como esta arte de rua traduz um potencial educativo, na medida em que pode desenvolver pensamento crítico sobre questões sociais, muitas vezes fraturantes. Metodologicamente, o estudo que se desenvolve na cidade do Porto recorre fundamentalmente ao método etnográfico, com suporte de técnicas dos métodos visuais, como a fotografia. Da análise de dados realizada exploramos neste lugar especificamente sobre as expressões desta forma de arte em torno da questão social da habitação. Os resultados indicam que o contexto mais livre da rua potencializa o desenvolvimento da expressão acerca das demandas latentes para cada artista.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Since its beginnings, graffiti culture has preserved a communicational function with an interventionist and denunciatory character. This culture takes place mainly in large cities and in public places that can be both peripheral and highly visible. Recognising that this form of expression has not lost its original characteristics has undergone changes in line with the social, political, cultural and economic changes in societies and suggests a renewed look at the potential it offers for education in the city. With the theoretical support of the perspectives of historical-dialectical materialism, this article seeks to answer the question of how this street art can be translated into an educational potential insofar as it can develop critical thinking about often controversial social issues. Methodologically, the study carried out in the city of Porto is essentially based on the ethnographic method, supported by visual techniques such as photography. In the data analysis carried out here, we specifically explored the expressions of this art form in relation to the social issue of housing. The results suggest that the freer context of the street encourages the development of expression through the latent demands of each artist.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="fr"><p><![CDATA[Résumé Depuis ses origines, la culture du graffiti a conservé une fonction de communication de nature interventionniste et dénonciatrice. Cette culture se matérialise principalement dans les grandes villes et dans des espaces publics qui peuvent être à la fois périphériques et très visibles. Reconnaissant que cette forme d&#8217;expression n&#8217;a pas perdu ses caractéristiques originelles, elle a subi des changements qui, en accord avec les évolutions sociales, politiques, culturelles et économiques des sociétés, proposent un regard renouvelé sur le potentiel qu&#8217;elle recèle pour l&#8217;éducation dans la ville. Avec le soutien théorique des perspectives du matérialisme historico-dialectique, la question à laquelle cet article tente de répondre est de savoir comment cet art de la rue se traduit en potentiel éducatif, dans la mesure où il peut développer une pensée critique sur des questions sociales souvent conflictuelles. D&#8217;un point de vue méthodologique, l&#8217;étude, qui a été réalisée dans la ville de Porto, utilise essentiellement la méthode ethnographique, soutenue par des techniques visuelles telles que la photographie. L&#8217;analyse des données réalisée ici nous a permis d&#8217;explorer spécifiquement les expressions de cette forme d&#8217;art autour de la question sociale du logement. Les résultats indiquent que le contexte plus libre de la rue favorise le développement de l&#8217;expression autour des demandes latentes de chaque artiste.]]></p></abstract>

Dicha cultura se materializa principalmente en las grandes ciudades y en espacios públicos que pueden ser, al mismo tiempo, periféricos y de gran visibilidad. Reconociendo que esta forma de expresión no ha perdido sus características originales, ha experimentado transformaciones que, en paralelo con los cambios sociales, políticos, culturales y económicos de las sociedades, proponen una visión renovada sobre el potencial que encierra para la educación en la ciudad. Con el soporte teórico de las perspectivas del materialismo histórico-dialéctico, la cuestión a la que este artículo pretende responder es cómo este arte callejero traduce un potencial educativo, en la medida en que puede fomentar el pensamiento crítico sobre cuestiones sociales, muchas veces divisivas. Metodológicamente, el estudio, que se desarrolla en la ciudad de Oporto, recurre fundamentalmente al método etnográfico, con apoyo de técnicas de métodos visuales, como la fotografía. A partir del análisis de los datos obtenidos, exploramos específicamente en este lugar las expresiones de esta forma de arte en torno a la cuestión social de la vivienda. Los resultados indican que el contexto más libre de la calle potencia el desarrollo de la expresión sobre las demandas latentes de cada artista.]]></p></abstract>
