Subjective well-being and quality of life in higher education: the case of Brazilian students in the Algarve: This work analyzed the levels of subjective well-being (BES) and quality of life (QOL) among Brazilian students at the University of Algarve (UAlg), based on the observation of a significant increase in Portuguese universities. An online survey was conducted. The survey included the Subjective Wellbeing Scale and the WHOQOL-Bref; 102 students participated. The results showed that Brazilian students who consider UAlg a good place to study and a good place to live have higher levels of QOL and BES. Those who have not had emotional crises and those who are well integrated have a higher QOL and SWB. Students with a higher level of physical and social relations are more likely to consider UAlg a good university to study. Brazilian students have a good level of SWB and QOL.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo Este trabalho analisou os níveis de bem-estar subjetivo (BES) e de qualidade de vida (QV) nos estudantes brasileiros que estudam na Universidade do Algarve (UAlg) a partir da constatação do significativo aumento destes em universidades portuguesas. Foi realizado um inquérito por questionário com entrevista eletrónica, constituído pela Escala de Bem-Estar Subjetivo e pelo WHOQOL-Bref, tendo participado 102 estudantes. Os resultados mostraram que os estudantes brasileiros que consideram a UAlg um bom sítio para estudar e um bom local para viver apresentam níveis mais elevados de QV e de BES. Aqueles que não tiveram crises emocionais e os que estão bem integrados têm uma QV e um BES mais elevado. Os estudantes com um nível físico e de relações sociais mais elevados têm maior probabilidade de considerarem a UAlg uma boa universidade para estudar. Conclui-se que os estudantes brasileiros têm um bom nível de BES e de QV.]]></p></abstract>
