The total area of each property is one of the variables of the model, with two possible values: the value declared by the producer and the value measured by using IKONOS II satellite images. This variable presents uncertainty in its measurement and can be represented as interval data. The efficiency frontier is constructed considering the limits of uncertainty (interval limits), that is, the smallest and greatest possible values to be assumed for the imprecise variable. In this way, a region is constructed in relation to which the DMUs have a certain membership degree. The theoretical model, called fuzzy DEA model, is presented, as well as its application to the case of the evaluation of the efficiency of the agricultural producers of Holambra.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Este artigo usa Análise de Envoltória de Dados (DEA) para medir a eficiência de alguns agricultores do município de Holambra (estado de São Paulo, Brasil). A área total de cada propriedade é uma das variáveis do modelo. Entretanto, esta variável apresenta dois possíveis valores: o valor declarado pelo produtor e o valor medido com o uso de imagens do satélite IKONOS (de alta resolução espacial). Desta forma, como essa variável apresenta incerteza na medição, pode ser representada como um dado intervalar. Assim, constrói-se uma região em relação à qual as DMUs possuem um certo grau de pertença. O modelo teórico proposto é apresentado, chamado de modelo DEA de fronteira difusa, assim como os resultados de sua aplicação ao caso da avaliação eficiência dos agricultores de Holambra.]]></p></abstract>
