Este estudio cualitativo explora las creencias y experiencias de diez adolescentes en las clases de Educación Física, así como su conocimiento e intención de cursar estudios en Ciencias del Deporte. A través de entrevistas semiestructuradas, se analizan sus vivencias durante la etapa secundaria y su percepción sobre las oportunidades profesionales en el ámbito deportivo. Las participantes advierten desigualdades en las clases de Educación Física respecto a sus compañeros y evidencian limitaciones en el conocimiento de los estudios y salidas profesionales de las Ciencias del Deporte.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo Se por um lado as mulheres são maioria na universidade, por outro a sua presença nos cursos ligados às Ciências da Educação Física e do Desporto diminuiu nos últimos anos. Este estudo qualitativo explora as crenças e experiências de dez adolescentes nas aulas de Educação Física, bem como os seus conhecimentos e a sua intenção de seguir estudos superiores nesta área. Através de entrevistas semiestruturadas, analisam-se as suas vivências no ensino secundário e as suas percepções sobre as oportunidades profissionais no contexto desportivo. As participantes assinalam desigualdades nas aulas de educação física em relação aos seus colegas e evidenciam limitações no conhecimento sobre os estudos e as saídas profissionais das Ciências do Desporto.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Although women represent the majority in higher education, their presence in Physical Education and Sport Sciences degrees has significantly declined in recent years. This qualitative study explores the beliefs and experiences of ten adolescent girls in their Physical Education classes, as well as their knowledge of and intentions to pursue higher education in Sport Sciences. Using semi-structured interviews, this study presents an analysis of their experiences during secondary education and their perceptions of professional opportunities in the sports field. The participants report gender inequalities in Physical Education classes compared to their male peers and reveal limited awareness regarding Sport Sciences in higher education and job prospects in this field.]]></p></abstract>
