</abstract>

The analysis of the novel Frankenstein, or the modern Prometheus sought to re-signify the figure of the monster, subverting the concept of abjection that structures the narrative text. The process of subjectivation of the character allows it to become aware of itself, enunciating the ontological self, act that testifies its emancipation as a body of potency and as a queer subject, in the face of human hostility. In order to provide a reading in favour of the literary character, certain textual aspects that confirm the benevolence of the depersonalised subject have been highlighted, revealing its desire for acceptance.
</abstract>
