Esta avaliação é feita no contexto de um programa de investigação multidisciplinar em curso que abrange as especialidades de Psicologia, Cirurgia Plástica e Linguística. A Metodologia usada incluiu uma Entrevista Clínica, a determinação do rendimento intelectual/cognitivo através das Escalas de Wechsler, a Escala de Desenvolvimento Psicomotor de Brunet-Lezine em crianças com dificuldades de linguagem, o CAT, Desenho da Figura Humana, bem como a caracterização do nível Socio-Económico e Escolaridade dos pais. Resultados: Salientam-se as seguintes correlações: Auto-Imagem e Fantasia, Adaptação Escolar e Relação com os pares, Dificuldades Linguísticas e QIV.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[The aim of this study was to evaluate the cognitive performance of a sample of cleft lip and palate children (N=35) as well as their difficulties in the social-emotional and linguistic areas. The study was done as part of an undergoing multidisciplinary research program that involves the specialties of Psychology, Plastic Surgery and Linguistics. The methodology used were the Clinical Interviews, the evaluation of the intellectual/cognitive achievement after the Wechsler Scales, The Psychomotor development Scale of Brunet-Lezine for children with language difficulties, the CAT, Drawing of the Human Figure, and at the same time the identification of their parents social-economic level and school degree. Results: The following relationships are outlined: Self-image and Fantasy, School Integration and relationship with their peers, Language Difficulties and VIQ.]]></p></abstract>
