RESUMO: Este trabalho tem por objectivo descrever a actuação do psicólogo num hospital, mais especificamente, na área do transplante hepático. O trabalho deste profissional tem como objectivo a avaliação e o acompanhamento psicológico dos doentes, proporcionando-lhes um espaço de informação geral sobre o tratamento, nomeadamente a preparação emocional e psicológica para possíveis problemas provenientes do processo de tratamento durante a fase pré e pós-transplante hepático. Este processo de acompanhamento e avaliação psicológica tem como objectivo primordial melhorar a qualidade de vida do doente.

Evaluation and Psychological Support Pre and Post Hepatic Transplant

ABSTRACT: This work has the objective of show, what a psychologist can do in a hospital, particularly in the liver transplantation unit. The work of this professional has the objective of evaluate and give psychological support to these patients, giving them a space where they can receive more information about the transplantation. Therefore they will be prepared emotional and psychological about some problems, which can show up resulting from the treatment before and after the liver transplant. All this process of psychological support and evaluation has the objective of improving their quality of life.
