Deste modo a sua qualidade de vida e a diminuição da morbilidade passa necessariamente pela adequada adesão às prescrições e recomendações médicas do tratamento. Consensualmente considerada como uma das áreas electivas de intervenção da psicologia da saúde e da psicologia pediátrica a adesão constitui, sem dúvida, um dos problemas que as equipas de saúde mais frequentemente enfrentam. Neste artigo a autora reflecte sobre as várias perspectivas e modelos de adesão e pretende contribuir para o reforço de uma abordagem flexível e dinâmica por parte dos técnicos de saúde, baseada em intervenções que tenham como objectivo a adesão autónoma e responsável dos doentes ou da família.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[A large number of children and adolescents are affected by chronic physical illnesses. The management of such conditions and the reduction of morbidity require children and families to adhere to demanding treatment regimens. Adherence to pediatric regimes is nowadays considered one of the most important issues in Pediatric Psychology, and one of the most frequent and challenging problems that heath professional must face in their effort to care for and to help children with health problems. In this article the author reflects on the most important perspectives and adherence models and pretends to contribute to the development of an amore flexible and integrative health professional's attitude that can promote patients and parent's more responsible and autonomous adherence to medical prescriptions and recommendations.]]></p></abstract>

Deste    modo a sua qualidade de vida e a diminui&ccedil;&atilde;o da morbilidade passa    necessariamente pela adequada ades&atilde;o &agrave;s prescri&ccedil;&otilde;es    e recomenda&ccedil;&otilde;es m&eacute;dicas do tratamento. Consensualmente    considerada como uma das &aacute;reas electivas de interven&ccedil;&atilde;o    da psicologia da sa&uacute;de e da psicologia pedi&aacute;trica a ades&atilde;o    constitui, sem d&uacute;vida, um dos problemas que as equipas de sa&uacute;de    mais frequentemente enfrentam.
