Contudo, ainda são escassos os investimentos para a compreensão das características pessoais que contribuam para o desenvolvimento da paixão por uma atividade. Esta pesquisa teve como principal objetivo explorar as associações entre traços de personalidade, paixão e percepção de autoeficácia em uma amostra de universitários brasileiros. A amostra foi composta por 416 estudantes universitários com idade entre 18 e 57 anos (M=24,81, DP=7,02, 78,1% mulheres). Os resultados provenientes de análises de correlação, regressões lineares múltiplas e análises de equações estruturais sugerem que características de personalidade como conscieciosidade, estabilidade emocional e abertura a experiências associadas à paixão harmoniosa pelos estudos afetaram positivamente a percepção de autoeficácia dos estudantes e, portanto, a potencialidade de resultados positivos no contexto educacional. Também se destaca o papel protetor da socialização para o desenvolvimento da paixão obsessiva pelos estudos. Corroborando estudos anteriores, os resultados sugerem que as características de personalidade associadas a paixão harmoniosa explicam diferenças individuais no envolvimento e obtenção de resultados positivos em relação aos estudos. Portanto, esses resultados configuram-se como informações relevantes para o desenvolvimento de intervenções baseadas em psicologia positiva que objetivem o engajamento de estudantes com as atividades e em relações estabelecidas no contexto universitário.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Several studies show the effects of passion in different life domains, such as studies, work, and sports. However, personal characteristics influencing the development of passion for an activity are little studied. This study main objective was to explore associations among personality traits, passion, and self-efficacy perception in Brazilian graduate students sample. The sample consisted of 416 graduate students between 18 and 57 years old (M=24.81, DP=7.02, 78.1% women). The results of correlation, multiple linear regression, and structural equation modeling suggest that personality trait, such as conscientiousness, emotional stability, and openness associated with harmonious passion for study positively affected self-efficacy perception in students and, therefore, the potentiality of positive results in the academic context. In addition, socialization had a protective role in the development of obsessive passion for studies. Corroborating previous studies, the results suggest that personality characteristics associated with harmonious passion explain individual differences in involvement and in obtaining positive results in studies. Therefore, this study results showed relevant information for the development of interventions in positive psychology aiming at engaging students in academic activities and in the relationships established in this environment.]]></p></abstract>
