Estes horários atípicos de trabalho alteram o ritmo circadiano e este desalinhamento afeta o ciclo comportamental alimentação/jejum, sono/vigília com efeitos adversos na saúde. Objetivou-se sistematizar o conhecimento científico produzido entre 2015 e 2019 acerca dos efeitos do trabalho em turnos no comportamento alimentar e no ritmo circadiano desses trabalhadores. A busca foi realizada em agosto de 2019, com coleta combinada nas bases de dados PubMed, Web of Science e Science Direct, utilizando-se os descritores controlados em saúde: &#8220;Shift Work Schedule&#8221; and &#8220;Food Consumption&#8221; and &#8220;Circadian Rhythm&#8221;, publicados entre 2015 e 2019. A amostra final foi composta por 11 artigos e verificou-se padrão alimentar inadequado e pior padrão de sono entre trabalhadores em turnos. O trabalho em turnos afeta negativamente a qualidade de vida do trabalhador e deve ser considerado como um problema de saúde pública, com implementação de ações tanto em organizações públicas quanto privadas.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract A large number of workers perform their activities in shift schedule and emerging studies suggest an association between circadian rhythm, dietary pattern and metabolic health. These atypical working hours change the circadian rhythm and this misalignment affects the eating/ fasting, sleep/wake behavioral cycle with adverse health effects. The objective of this study was to systematize in the scientific literature produced between 2015 and 2019 about the effects of shift work on the eating behavior and circadian rhythm in these workers. The search was performed in August 2019, with combined collection in PubMed, Web of Science and Science Direct databases, using the controlled health descriptors: &#8220;Shift Work Schedule&#8221; and &#8220;Food Consumption&#8221; and &#8220;Circadian Rhythm&#8221;, published between 2015 and 2019. The final sample consisted of 11 articles and found an inadequate eating pattern and worse sleep pattern among shift workers. Shift work affects negatively the quality of life of workers and should be considered as a public health problem, with implementation of actions in both public and private organizations.]]></p></abstract>
