Um estudo explorat&oacute;rio </b></p>     <p>Orienta&ccedil;&atilde;o: Prof. Doutor Ot&aacute;vio Machado Lopes de Mendon&ccedil;a  </p>     <p>Na sociedade atual, um dos temas que vem ocupando espa&ccedil;o para discuss&otilde;es,    nas diversas &aacute;reas do conhecimento, &eacute; o stress. Muitas vezes,    as condi&ccedil;&otilde;es de trabalho e as exig&ecirc;ncias impostas &agrave;s    pessoas, inclusive na profiss&atilde;o docente, pelas mudan&ccedil;as da vida    moderna, s&atilde;o geradoras de stress. Exercer a actividade docente implica,    para o professor, ter uma ocupa&ccedil;&atilde;o que exige certo grau de habilidade,    preparo e conhecimento atualizado, ao mesmo tempo que este profissional necessita    praticar a&ccedil;&otilde;es que desenvolvam as habilidades cognitivas, afetivas    e sociais. Pretendeu-se conduzir as refIex&otilde;es sabre o stress do professor    procurando responder a determinadas inquieta&ccedil;&otilde;es, formulando o    seguinte questionamento: Quais os sintomas de stress encontrados em professores    que trabalham com as primeiras s&eacute;ries do Ensino Fundamental? O objetivo    geral desta investiga&ccedil;&atilde;o foi analisar os sintomas de stress em    professores das primeiras s&eacute;ries do Ensino Fundamental, pertencentes    a cinco institui&ccedil;&otilde;es p&uacute;blicas estaduais da Cidade de Jo&atilde;o    Pessoa - Paraiba-Brasil. Para contemplar o objetivo geral, procurou-se verificar    os principais sintomas de stress nos professores, identificando a fase do stress    em que os mesmos se encontravam. Procurou-se, ainda, avaliar a rela&ccedil;&atilde;o    entre o tempo de servi&ccedil;o e a presen&ccedil;a de stress e a rela&ccedil;&atilde;o    entre a jornada de trabalho e a presen&ccedil;a de stress. A metodologia utilizada,    para a realiza&ccedil;&atilde;o deste trabalho, foi de car&aacute;ter explorat&oacute;rio    e descritivo com uma abordagem quantitativa dos dados obtidos. A pesquisa caracterizouse    num estudo de campo, fundamentada em um instrumento denominado &#8220;Inventario    de Sintomas de Stress Lipp - ISSL&#8221; da autora Marilda Lipp (2000), vers&atilde;o    para adultos. A coleta dos dados foi realizada mediante a aplica&ccedil;&atilde;o    do ISSL a uma amostra de 76 professores, com idade entre 25 e 55 anos. Com base    na an&aacute;lise realizada, os resultados revelaram que os sintomas de stress    est&atilde;o presentes na maioria dos professores, prevalecendo o mesmo na fase    de resist&ecirc;ncia; nenhum deles apresenta stress na fase de alerta; outra    parte se encontra na fase de quase-exaust&atilde;o; uma categoria menor apresenta    stress na fase de exaust&atilde;o e um outro grupo apresenta-se sem stress.    Os sintomas predominantes s&atilde;o de natureza psicol&oacute;gica, apresentando-se    como mais significativos: irritabilidade excessiva, pensar constantemente em    um s&oacute; assunto e sensibilidade emotiva excessiva. Na &aacute;rea f&iacute;sica    os sintomas mais presentes foram: cansa&ccedil;o constante, sensa&ccedil;&atilde;o    de desgaste f&iacute;sico constante e problemas com a mem&oacute;ria. Diante    desta amostra de sujeitos pesquisados, concluiuse que os dados apresentados    sugerem uma amplia&ccedil;&atilde;o do estudo, pois a contribui&ccedil;&atilde;o    para conhecimento do processo de stress, na atividade dos professores, proporcionar&aacute;    oportunidade a esses profissionais para que eles despertem para a elabora&ccedil;&atilde;o    de programas de combate, controle e preven&ccedil;&atilde;o do stress, resultando    na conquista de uma vida mais saud&aacute;vel, o que pode ser extensivo a outras    &aacute;reas do conhecimento. </p>     <p>&nbsp;</p>     <p><i>In current society, one of the issues that have been brought up to discussion,    in the vary fields of knowledge, is stress. Many times, working conditions and    demands imposed to people, including to teaching profession, by changes of modern    life, generate stress. Carrying out teaching involves the teacher within an    occupation that demands a certain level of skill, preparation and updated knowledge,    at the same time this professional needs to carry out actions that develop cognitive,    affectionate, and social skills. We had the intent to conduce our reflections    about the stress of teachers, aiming to answer our inquietudes by formulating    the following question: Which of the symptoms of stress are found in teachers    that work with the first grades of fundamental education? The general objective    of this investigation was to analyze the symptoms of stress in teachers of the    first grades of fundamental education of five public state institutions of the    city of Jo&atilde;o Pessoa &#8211; Para&iacute;ba-Brazil. To accomplish the    general objective, we tried to verify the main symptoms of stress and also to    identify which phase of stress the teachers were in. We still tried to evaluate    relations between presence of stress and time of work and presence of stress    and journey of work. The methodology that was used to carry out this work was    of exploratory and descriptive character, with a quantitative approach of the    data obtained. This survey had its fundamentals on an instrument named &#8220;lnvent&aacute;rio    de Sintomas de Stress Lipp (Stress Symptoms Inventory Lipp) &#8211; ISSL&#8221;,    by the author Marilda Lipp (2000), version for adults. The collection of data    was done by applying the ISSL to a sample of 76 teachers aging from 25 to 55    years old. According to the analysis, the results revealed that the symptoms    of stress were present in most of the teachers and that the resistance phase    of stress had prevailed. None of the teachers presented stress in the alert    phase; some of them were in the almost-exhaustion phase; a small number presented    stress in the exhaustion phase and another group did not present stress. Predominant    symptoms were psychological, among which the most significant were: excessive    irritability, constantly thinking in one single subject and excessive emotional    sensibility. On the physical matter, the most common symptoms were: constant    tiredness, constant feeling of physical discharge and memory issues. We conclude    that a broadening study about this subject is needed whose contribution for    the comprehension of stress process due to teaching profession will provide    an opportunity for those professionals to wake up to the drawing of programs    of combat, control and prevention of stress, willing the acquisition of a healthier    life, that can be extended to other areas of knowledge.</i></p>      ]]></body>
