Nele se conclui que os dois candidatos à Presidência dos Estados Unidos baseiam as suas estratégias externas no princípio do internacionalismo multilateral e têm visões muito similares para a maioria dos problemas. Não obstante, as diferenças, embora em número reduzido, são significativas, destacando-se neste âmbito os casos do Iraque, da Rússia e do Paquistão.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Even before they were chosen as the Presidential hopefuls of their respective parties, Barack Obama and John McCain had already developed coherent foreign policy agendas. This article argues that both candidates propose to follow multilateral internationalist strategies and share a similar position on great many issues. They are opposed on a limited but significant set of issues, namely Iraq, Pakistan and the relationship with the Russian Federation.]]></p></abstract>
