Nos procedimentos de validade, as correlações variaram de fraca a moderada, na reprodutibilidade as correlações intraclasse variaram de .75 a .98. Foram identificados poucos estudos que utilizaram questionário eletrónico para avaliar à atividade física em crianças, nenhum no Brasil. Os questionários eletrónicos apresentaram evidências de validade e reprodutibilidade e oferecem vantagens sobre os instrumentos impressos, pois seu tempo de aplicação é reduzido e são mais atraentes quanto ao seu preenchimento.]]></p></abstract>

The aim of this study was to identify studies that selected electronic instruments to assess physical activity in children and verify the validity and reliability of these instruments. We conducted a systematic literature review (January 2000 to July 2011) in the following databases: Scopus, ScienceDirect, PsycINFO, SPORTDiscus, Web of Science, ScienceDirect, Medline, Scielo and Lilacs, using descriptors of the terms "online questionnaire, web questionnaire, physical activity, motor activity, children, child" and its correlates in Portuguese. We analyzed 11 studies. Six studies aimed to validate the measures of physical activity obtained with electronic questionnaires versus the measurements obtained with accelerometers or pedometers. The correlations ranged from weak to moderate and the intraclass correlation coefficients ranged from .75 to .98. We identified few studies that used electronic questionnaire to assess physical activity in children, none in Brazil. The electronic questionnaires were valid and reliable, offering advantages over the printed instruments, since takes less time to fill-in and are more attractive.]]></p></abstract>

<body><![CDATA[<p>&nbsp;</p>     <p>&nbsp;</p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana">A prática regular de atividade física (AF) promove   benefícios à saúde das crianças (Bailey, McKay, Mirwald, Crocker, &amp;   Faulkner, 1999; Boreham et al., 2004; Freedman, Dietz, Srinivasan, &amp;   Berenson, 1999; Strong et al., 2005). Além disso, crianças fisicamente ativas   tendem a manter esse comportamento na vida adulta, promovendo desfechos   positivos à saúde (Paffenbarger Jr et al., 1993; Pate et al., 1995; Strong et   al., 2005; Twisk, 2001). A atividade física em crianças resulta de uma   combinação complexa de eventos estruturados ou não estruturados, planeados ou   eventuais, que pode ser realizada individualmente ou em grupos, na escola, em   competições, em casa ou no lazer (Dollman et al., 2009; Welk, Corbin, &amp;   Dale, 2000).</font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana">A avaliação da prática de atividade física, em crianças,   pode ser realizada por métodos diretos ou autorreportados (Ridley, Ainsworth,   &amp; Olds, 2008). Atualmente, existem diversos métodos autorreportados   disponíveis para avaliar atividade física em adultos (Craig et al., 2003),   adolescentes e crianças (Barros et al., 2007; Guedes, Lopes, &amp; Guedes,   2005; Kowalski, Crocker, Donen, &amp; Honours, 2004; Ridley et al., 2008;   Sirard &amp; Pate, 2001). As maiores vantagens no uso destes métodos são o   baixo custo, a fácil aplicação e a agilidade na coleta de dados (Cale &amp; Harris, 1994).</font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana">Na última década, a revolução tecnológica, proporcionou o   avanço do uso de métodos eletrónicos (via internet), para avaliar diversos   desfechos relacionados à saúde (Arab et al., 2010; Davis, 1999), inclusive à   atividade física (Maher &amp; Olds, 2011; McLure, Reilly, Crooks, &amp;   Summerbell, 2009; Olds, Ridley, Dollman, &amp; Maher, 2010; Ridley, Olds, &amp;   Hill, 2006). Assim, torna-se necessário analisar a qualidade das medidas   obtidas por meio de instrumentos eletrónicos (Apovian et al., 2010; Chen &amp;   Li, 2010; Vereecken, Covents, Matthys, &amp; Maes, 2005). A aplicação de um   questionário eletrónico apresenta vantagens como acesso imediato ao banco de   dados, dispensa a fase de digitação das informações, reduz o custo com a   impressão dos formulários, proporciona maior velocidade na coleta das   informações e, ainda, pode despertar maior atratividade às crianças no momento   do preenchimento (Gwaltney, Shields, &amp; Shiffman, 2008; Kongsved, Basnov,   Holm-Christensen, &amp; Hjollund, 2007; Omote, Prado, &amp; Carrara, 2005).   Apesar dessas vantagens, são escassas as informações sobre a qualidade e a   confiabilidade dos dados oriundos da aplicação de questionários eletrónicos, principalmente, no campo da Educação Física.</font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana">Nesse sentido, trata-se de um desafio agregar recursos   tecnológicos, como a informática e internet, na coleta de informações sobre a   prática de atividade física em crianças. Diante do exposto, esta revisão sistemática   teve como objetivos: i) identificar estudos que usaram instrumentos eletrónicos   para avaliar a prática de atividade física em crianças e ii) verificar as evidências de validade e fidedignidade destes instrumentos.</font></p>     <p>&nbsp;</p>     <p><font size="3" face="Verdana"><b>MÉTODO</b></font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana"><b>Critérios de seleção dos estudos</b></font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana">A presente revisão sistemática foi realizada observando os   procedimentos metodológicos da The Cochrane Collaboration (Cochrane, 2012). O   processo de busca foi realizado utilizando-se dos seguintes descritores:   “online questionnaire; web questionnaire; physical activity; motor activity;   children; child”. As buscas foram realizadas nos idiomas inglês e seus   correlatos da língua portuguesa, utilizando-se os operadores booleanos “and” e   “or”. Pesquisas adicionais foram realizadas nas referências dos artigos selecionados. </font></p>     ]]></body>
<body><![CDATA[<p><font size="2" face="Verdana">Para a revisão foram incluídos artigos que apresentaram os   seguintes requisitos: a) utilização de instrumento eletrónico para avaliar a   atividade física; b) envolveram amostras de crianças com idades entre 7 e 14   anos; c) somente artigos originais; d) artigos publicados nos idiomas inglês e   português. Foram excluídos livros, capítulos de livros, monografias,   dissertações, teses, artigos de revisão, resumos, cartas ao editor e editoriais.   Além disso, estudos que utilizaram amostras de crianças com necessidades especiais.</font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana"><b>Bases de dados e estratégia de pesquisa</b></font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana">As buscas dos artigos foram conduzidas em três etapas nas   principais bases de dados eletrónicas disponíveis (Scopus, PsycINFO, SPORTDiscus,   Web of Science, ScienceDirect, Medline, Scielo e Lilacs) compreendendo um   intervalo temporal entre janeiro de 2000 e julho de 2011. Na primeira etapa   foram selecionados todos os artigos que continham em seu título algum dos   descritores utilizados nas buscas. Nessa etapa foram localizados 962 artigos   nas seguintes bases de dados (ver <a href="/img/revistas/mot/v9n4/9n4a12f1.jpg">Figura 1</a>): Scopus (n= 328), Psycinfo (n= 5),   SportDiscus (n= 8), Web of Science (n= 198), ScienceDirect (n= 375), Medline (n= 44), Scielo (n= 2), Lilacs (n= 2).</font></p>     
<p><font size="2" face="Verdana">Após a leitura dos títulos, os pesquisadores excluíram 923   artigos, por não terem relação com o tema. A segunda etapa compreendeu a   realização da leitura dos resumos (n= 39, 4%), ao final dessa etapa foram   eliminados 13 artigos, sendo: 12 artigos de revisão da literatura e um estudo   realizado com grupo de crianças com necessidades especiais. Consequentemente,   os pesquisadores selecionaram 26 (2.7%) artigos que para serem lidos na   íntegra. Após a leitura desses manuscritos, foram selecionados oito artigos   (0.8%) que atenderam aos critérios de inclusão; além desses, foram incluídos   mais três estudos, que foram localizados a partir das referências dos artigos previamente selecionados.</font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana">As buscas dos artigos foram realizadas por dois   pesquisadores de maneira independente. Ao final de cada etapa os pesquisadores   realizaram uma reunião para discutir a inclusão ou exclusão dos estudos. Nesse   processo, os itens que apresentaram concordância entre os dois pesquisadores   foram considerados adequados e incluídos na revisão; entretanto, quando houve   divergência entre os dois pesquisadores quanto à inclusão ou exclusão de algum   estudo, consultou-se a opinião de um terceiro pesquisador.</font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana"><b>Avaliação da qualidade metodológica e extração dos dados</b></font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana">Para a coleta dos dados e avaliação da qualidade   metodológica dos estudos, foi elaborada uma tabela sinóptica, na qual foram   inseridas informações detalhadas sobre cada estudo incluído na revisão: a) ano   de publicação; b) instrumento eletrónico utilizado; c) faixa etária das   crianças; d) método de seleção amostral; e) cálculo amostral; f) período de   referência da medida de AF; g) método de referência adotado para comparação;   h) número de sujeitos; i) tipo de validade analisada; j) procedimentos   estatísticos para testar a validade; e, l) procedimentos estatísticos para testar a reprodutibilidade do instrumento.</font></p>     <p>&nbsp;</p>     <p><font size="3" face="Verdana"><b>RESULTADOS</b></font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana">Dos 11 artigos selecionados para esta revisão, oito   utilizaram em suas amostras crianças australianas (Maher &amp; Olds, 2011; Olds   et al., 2010; Ridley, Dollman, &amp; Olds, 2001; Ridley, et al., 2006) e   canadenses (Lévesque, Cargo, &amp; Salsberg, 2004; Storey et al., 2009; Storey   &amp; McCargar, 2012; Woodruff &amp; Hanning, 2010). A idade média das crianças   variou de 8.8 a 14 anos. Seis estudos realizaram procedimentos de seleção   amostral probabilístico (Maher &amp; Olds, 2011; McLure et al., 2009; Olds et   al., 2010; Pearce, Williamson, Harrell, Wildemuth, &amp; Solomon, 2007; Ridley   et al., 2006; Storey &amp; McCargar, 2012), os demais utilizaram processo de   amostragem por conveniência ou intencional, apenas um estudo relatou ter realizado o cálculo do tamanho da amostra (Pearce et al., 2007).</font></p>     ]]></body>
<body><![CDATA[<p><font size="2" face="Verdana">O período de referência da coleta das medidas de atividade   física obtida por meio dos acelerómetros variou de um dia (Ridley et al., 2001,   2006), 2 dias (Moore et al., 2008) e 5 dias (McLure et al., 2009). Para a   maioria dos estudos que empregaram um questionário eletrónico, o período de   referência para as medidas de atividade física foi o recordatório do dia   anterior (Moore et al., 2008). O tempo despendido em atividade física moderada   e vigorosa foi utilizado como referência na maior parte dos estudos (McLure et   al., 2009; Moore, et al., 2008). O método de referência mais utilizado para   comparar as medidas de atividade física foi o acelerómetro seguido do pedómetro   (Moore et al., 2008). A <a href="/img/revistas/mot/v9n4/9n4a12t1.jpg">Tabela 1</a> apresenta as principais características dos   estudos que utilizaram questionários eletrónicos para avaliarem a atividade física (AF) em crianças.</font></p>     
<p><font size="2" face="Verdana">Dos 11 estudos analisados (ver <a href="/img/revistas/mot/v9n4/9n4a12t1.jpg">Tabela 1</a>), quatro realizaram   a validação das medidas de AF obtida por meio de questionários eletrónicos   versus as medidas de AF obtidas por acelerómetros (McLure et al., 2009; Moore   et al., 2008; Ridley et al., 2001, 2006), as correlações encontradas variaram   de fraca (Pearce et al., 2007) a moderada intensidade (Olds et al., 2010). Três   estudos (Maher &amp; Olds, 2011; Olds et al., 2010; Storey &amp; McCargar,   2012) utilizaram as medidas de AF obtidas pelo pedómetro para validar as   informações obtidas pelos questionários eletrónicos. Dois estudos relataram   apenas a validade de conteúdo (Lévesque, et al., 2004; Pearce, et al., 2007).   Medidas adicionais de AF, aptidão aeróbia e frequência cardíaca, foram   coletadas para realizar a validade convergente dos instrumentos eletrónicos (Ridley et al., 2001; Storey &amp; McCargar, 2012).</font></p>     
<p><font size="2" face="Verdana">Quanto aos procedimentos de reprodutibilidade, os   coeficientes de correlações intraclasse variaram de .75 a .98; destes, dois   estudos adotaram estratégias estatísticas diferentes para determinar a   precisão das medidas de AF obtidas pelo questionário eletrónico versus as   medidas de AF obtidas pelo acelerómetro (Moore et al., 2008a; Ridley et al.,   2006). Nesse particular, os autores relataram que os questionários eletrónicos   subestimaram a AF de moderada intensidade com um erro sistemático de menos 4   minutos nessas medidas (Moore et al., 2008). A <a href="/img/revistas/mot/v9n4/9n4a12t2.jpg">Tabela 2</a> apresenta um sumário sobre as evidências de validade e reprodutibilidade dos estudos.</font></p>     
<p>&nbsp;</p>     <p><font size="3" face="Verdana"><b>DISCUSSÃO</b></font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana">No processo de revisão sistemática foram encontrados 11   artigos que utilizaram questionários eletrónicos para avaliar AF em crianças.   Dentre eles, seis estudos (54.5%) realizaram os procedimentos de validade com   medidas diretas de AF (acelerómetros ou pedómetros), os procedimentos de   reprodutibilidade teste e reteste, foram realizados em apenas quatro estudos   (36.3%). Isso demonstra a escassez de estudos dessa natureza, tanto na literatura nacional, quanto internacional.</font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana">Embora os estudos selecionados para esta revisão apresentem   diferenças nas suas metodologias, nos critérios das medidas de AF e nas   análises estatísticas, a maioria concluiu que os questionários eletrónicos   desenvolvidos são ferramentas inovadoras, de fácil aceitação por parte das   crianças e apresentam potencial para avaliar o envolvimento das crianças na atividade física de forma ampla. </font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana">A identificação das propriedades psicométricas adequadas,   validade e reprodutibilidade, são requisitos indispensáveis, quando se pretende   utilizar esses instrumentos (Olds et al., 2010). A maioria dos estudos   analisados nesta revisão demonstrou que os questionários eletrónicos apresentaram baixas correlações com as medidas diretas (acelerómetros e pedómetros).</font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana">Valores de correlação mais elevadas foram encontrados quando   se comparou as medidas de AF obtidas pelo questionário Multimedia Activity   Recall for Children and Adolescents (MARCA), com as medidas de AF obtidas por   meio dos pedómetros e acelerómetros (Olds et al., 2010; Storey &amp; McCargar,   2012) e ainda quando utilizaram o período recordatório de AF de um dia. Isso se   explica pelo fato de que em crianças, o monitoramento diário sobre o   comportamento de AF pode superar problemas de recordatório de memória (Cale   &amp; Harris, 1994), sendo que essa informação pode ser corroborada pelos dados   de Ridley et al. (2006), em que afirmam que períodos entre um e três dias melhoram   significativamente a validade dos questionários que medem AF. Quando efetuados   procedimentos de validação convergente, as correlações observadas entre os   métodos foram fracas (<i>r</i>= .28) para ambos os estudos (Olds et al., 2010; Storey &amp; McCargar, 2012).</font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana">Em geral, os questionários eletrónicos apesar de   apresentarem baixa validade para uso individual, no entanto, os mesmos podem   coletar informações detalhadas quanto ao tipo, frequência, duração e o   contexto onde essas atividades são realizadas pelas crianças, sobretudo, em   estudos epidemiológicos, de intervenção ou de acompanhamento (Maher &amp;   Olds, 2011; Olds et al., 2010; Storey &amp; McCargar, 2012). Igualmente, esses   resultados são consistentes com outros estudos que utilizaram instrumentos   tradicionais, como papel e caneta (Da Costa, 2011; Kowalski, Crocker, &amp; Kowalski, 1997).</font></p>     ]]></body>
<body><![CDATA[<p><font size="2" face="Verdana">Dessa forma, dos 11 estudos analisados nesta revisão, cinco   relataram o uso de procedimentos estatísticos adequados de reprodutibilidade.   Os valores de correlação intraclasse relatados nos estudos foram elevados   (Moore, et al., 2008). Isso demonstra que os instrumentos eletrónicos possuem   uma excelente estabilidade temporal. Esses resultados são superiores aos   encontrados em outros estudos (Barros, Assis, Pires, Grossemann, Vasconcelos, Luna &amp; Barros, 2007; Costa, 2010).</font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana">Os questionários eletrónicos estão gradativamente sendo   incorporadas nas pesquisas epidemiológicas. De fato, isso deve contribuir para   o avanço dessa área do conhecimento, sobretudo, com crianças, pois, permite que   escolas que possuam uma sala equipada com computadores e com acesso a internet,   possam realizar diagnósticos, com economia de tempo e recursos financeiros. Embora   ainda tenhamos grandes desafios a enfrentar quando se trata de usar dados   autorreportados, o uso de instrumentos eletrónicos, pode proporcionar uma   série de vantagens, dentre as quais podemos destacar: a garantia de anonimato   oferecido pelas ferramentas baseadas na web, a atratividade, a flexibilidade,   a agilidade nas coletas e armazenamento dos dados. Tudo isso faz com que os   questionários eletrónicos sejam uma opção prática e eficiente para a coleta de informações sobre os comportamentos de atividade física em crianças.</font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana">Apesar das estratégias de busca dos artigos terem sido   realizadas nas principais bases de dados indexadas, esse procedimento não descarta   a possibilidade de algum manuscrito ter ficado fora dessa revisão. Dentre as   limitações desse estudo podemos destacar o pequeno número de artigos incluídos   na revisão e a dificuldade em delimitar a faixa etária para as buscas, pois   no idioma inglês a definição de criança (<i>children</i>),   pode englobar sujeitos de idades de 5/6 anos até 14 anos. Esse detalhe   dificultou a seleção dos estudos a serem incluídos na revisão, impossibilitando a utilização de critérios de inclusão mais rigorosos.</font></p>     <p>&nbsp;</p>     <p><font size="3" face="Verdana"><b>CONCLUSÕES</b></font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana">O baixo número de artigos encontrados sobre o tema evidencia   a escassez de estudos relacionados aos questionários eletrónicos para avaliar   atividade física em crianças. De um modo geral, a maioria dos estudos   analisados nesta revisão demonstrou que os questionários eletrónicos apresentaram correlações fracas ou moderadas com medidas objetivas. </font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana">Dos 11 estudos analisados nesta revisão, cinco relataram o   uso de procedimentos estatísticos adequados de reprodutibilidade. Os valores   de correlação intraclasse relatados nos estudos foram elevados. Além disso, a   maioria dos autores destacou que os questionários eletrónicos oferecem algumas   vantagens sobre os instrumentos impressos, pois, são ferramentas inovadoras e   úteis para avaliar atividade física em crianças, o seu tempo de aplicação é   reduzido, sobretudo, porque podem ser mais atraentes para as crianças   preencherem.
