A vascular malformation occupying the entire red zone of the lower right lip, including the inner face, up to the midline, of a 12-year-old patient, was excised in two sessions with a diode laser (GaAl) of 980 nm with fiber tips of O 400 &#956;m. Total re-epithelization of the wound was achieved in approximately 21 to 30 days. No postoperative pain occurred, and the functional and aesthetic results were good. The use of diode laser in oral vascular anomalies can be considered a good treatment option.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo O objetivo deste estudo é apresentar um caso clínico de hemangioma do lábio inferior tratado com sucesso, por laser de díodo. Paciente com 12 anos de idade com malformação vascular ocupando toda a zona vermelha do lábio inferior direito incluindo a face interna até à linha média. O tratamento cirúrgico foi efetuado em 2 sessões com o laser de díodo (GaAl) de 980 nm com fibra descartável (fiber tips) de Ø 400 &#956;m. Houve reepitelização total das feridas em aproximadamente 21 a 30 dias. Não ocorreu dor pós-operatória e o resultado funcional e estético foi bom. O uso do laser de díodo nas anomalias vasculares orais pode ser considerado uma boa opção de tratamento.]]></p></abstract>
