O Enfermeiro Especialista em Enfermagem de Saúde Mental e Psiquiátrica (EEESMP) desempenha papel crucial na avaliação e promoção da LSM. Este trabalho teve como objetivo identificar o nível de LSM dos adultos em Portugal. Realizou-se uma Revisão Integrativa da Literatura (RIL) nas bases PubMed e MEDLINE entre 15 de abril e 20 de junho de 2025, utilizando os descritores "Mental Health" e "Health Literacy" com operador booleano AND, identificando 2737 artigos iniciais. Após aplicação dos critérios de inclusão e exclusão, foram selecionados seis artigos para análise. Os resultados identificaram fatores mediadores cruciais que o EEESMP deve considerar nas suas intervenções. Os estudos revelaram que grupos específicos de adultos em Portugal apresentam maior vulnerabilidade na LSM. Os resultados demonstraram que adultos em Portugal, especificamente indivíduos do sexo masculino e aqueles com menor escolaridade, apresentam níveis mais baixos de LSM, estando associados a maior estigma e menor conhecimento sobre saúde mental.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Mental Health Literacy (MHL) represents a fundamental pillar in public health, defined as the set of knowledge and beliefs about mental health pathologies that enable individuals to manage and prevent them. The Specialist Nurse in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing plays a crucial role in assessing and promoting MHL. This study aimed to identify the level of MHL in adults in Portugal. An Integrative Literature Review was conducted in PubMed and MEDLINE databases from April 15 to June 20, 2025, using the descriptors "Mental Health" and "Health Literacy" with the Boolean operator AND, identifying 2737 initial articles. After applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, six articles were selected for analysis. The results identified crucial mediating factors that specialist nurses should consider in their interventions. Studies revealed that specific groups of adults in Portugal present greater vulnerability regarding MHL. Results demonstrated that adults in Portugal, specifically male individuals and those with less education, present lower levels of MHL, which are associated with greater stigma and less knowledge about mental health issues.]]></p></abstract>

El Enfermero Especialista en Enfermería de Salud Mental y Psiquiátrica desempeña un papel crucial en la evaluación y promoción de la alfabetización en salud mental. Este trabajo tuvo como objetivo identificar el nivel de alfabetización en salud mental de los adultos en Portugal.
