O aparecimento de novas tecnologias, a inexistência de espaço livre para brincar, a diminuição de autonomia e mobilidade são alguns dos fatores que têm vindo a conduzir a uma diminuição do tempo de jogo livre na vida das crianças (Neto &amp; Lopes, 2008). Inserindo-se numa investigação mais vasta, levada a cabo no âmbito da Prática Profissional Supervisionada do Mestrado em Educação Pré-Escolar da Escola Superior de Educação de Lisboa, sobre as brincadeiras arriscadas em idade pré-escolar e, em particular, sobre as suas potencialidades para o desenvolvimento integral da criança, o presente estudo tem como objetivos (a) identificar os comportamentos das crianças em situações de brincadeiras arriscadas e (b) identificar os comportamentos de supervisão do adulto em situações de brincadeiras arriscadas. Para dar resposta aos objetivos delineados, enveredou-se pela realização de um estudo de caso, de natureza qualitativa ou interpretativa, recorrendo-se a diversas técnicas de recolha de dados - observação direta participante e observação indireta, designadamente, entrevistas e focus group apoiadas em recursos audiovisuais, que permitiram dar voz aos intervenientes diretos na ação (crianças, profissionais de educação e famílias). Os dados recolhidos revelam a existência de uma propensão natural deste grupo de crianças para brincar ao ar livre e de se envolver em brincadeiras arriscadas. Foi igualmente observado no grupo uma diferença de comportamentos entre sexos no que toca a esta tipologia de brincadeiras. De forma geral, os rapazes tinham mais comportamentos de risco e aderiam mais a brincadeiras arriscadas do que as raparigas, que tinham mais tendência para apontar, comentar e olhar. Também foi visível a presença de comentários de supervisão, tanto por parte de crianças como de adultos, que intensificavam o medo das crianças e acabavam por impedir a sua ação.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract In today's society, children also play, but they play differently. The appearance of new technologies, the lack of free space to play, the decrease in autonomy and mobility are some of the factors that have been leading to a decrease in the time of free playing in the lives of children (Neto &amp; Lopes, 2008). As part of a broader investigation, carried out within the scope of the Supervised Professional Practice of the Master in Pre-School Education at the Lisbon Higher School of Education, on the risky play at preschool age and specifically on their potential for the integral development of the child, the present study aims to (a) identify the behaviors of children in situations of risky play and (b) identify the supervisory behaviors of adults in situations of risky play. To respond to the outlined objectives, a qualitative or interpretive case study was undertaken, using various data collection techniques - direct participant observation and indirect observation, namely, interviews and focus groups supported by audiovisual resources, which made it possible to give a voice to those directly involved in the action (children, education professionals and families). The data collected reveal the existence of a natural propensity for this group of children to play outdoors and to engage in risky play. It was also observed in the group a difference in behaviors between sexes regarding this type of play. In general, boys had more risky behaviors and more adhered to risky play than girls, who were more likely to point, comment and look. The presence of supervisory comments was also visible, both from children and adults, which intensify children's fear and end up preventing their action.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen En la sociedad actual, los niños también juegan, pero juegan de manera diferente. La aparición de nuevas tecnologías, la falta de espacio libre para jugar, la disminución de la autonomía y la movilidad son algunos de los factores que han ido provocando una disminución del tiempo de juego libre en la vida de los niños (Neto &amp; Lopes, 2008) . Como parte de una investigación más amplia, realizada en el ámbito de la Práctica Profesional Supervisada del Máster en Educación Infantil de la Escuela Superior de Educación de Lisboa, sobre el juego de riesgo en edad preescolar y específicamente sobre su potencial para el desarrollo integral de el niño, el presente estudio tiene como objetivo (a) identificar las conductas de los niños en situaciones de juego de riesgo y (b) identificar las conductas de supervisión de los adultos en situaciones de juego de riesgo. Para dar respuesta a los objetivos planteados, se realizó un estudio de caso cualitativo o interpretativo, utilizando diversas técnicas de recolección de datos - observación participante directa y observación indirecta, es decir, entrevistas y grupos focales apoyados en recursos audiovisuales, que permitieron dar voz a aquellos directamente implicados en la acción (niños, profesionales de la educación y familias). Los datos recopilados revelan la existencia de una propensión natural de este grupo de niños a jugar al aire libre y a participar en juegos de riesgo. También se observó en el grupo una diferencia de comportamientos entre sexos con respecto a este tipo de juego. En general, los niños tenían comportamientos más riesgosos y se apegaban más a los juegos de riesgo que las niñas, que eran más propensos a señalar, comentar y mirar. También fue visible la presencia de comentarios de los supervisores, tanto de niños como de adultos, que intensifican el miedo de los niños y terminan impidiendo su acción.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="fr"><p><![CDATA[Résumé Dans la société d'aujourd'hui, les enfants jouent aussi, mais ils jouent différemment. L'apparition de nouvelles technologies, le manque d'espace libre pour jouer, la diminution de l'autonomie et de la mobilité sont quelques-uns des facteurs qui ont conduit à une diminution du temps de jeu libre dans la vie des enfants (Neto &amp; Lopes, 2008). Dans le cadre d'une enquête plus large, menée dans le cadre de la pratique professionnelle supervisée du Master en éducation préscolaire à l&#8217;École Supérieure d&#8217;Éducation de Lisbonne, sur les jeux à risque à l'âge préscolaire et en particulier sur leur potentiel pour le développement intégral de l'enfant, la présente étude vise à (a) identifier les comportements des enfants dans des situations de jeu à risque et (b) identifier les comportements de surveillance des adultes dans des situations de jeu à risque. Pour répondre aux objectifs énoncés, une étude de cas qualitative ou interprétative a été entreprise, en utilisant diverses techniques de collecte de données - observation directe des participants et observation indirecte, à savoir des entretiens et des groupes de discussion soutenus par des ressources audiovisuelles, qui ont permis de donner la parole aux acteurs directement impliqués dans l'action (enfants, professionnels de l'éducation et familles). Les données recueillies révèlent l'existence d'une propension naturelle pour ce groupe d'enfants à jouer à l'extérieur et à se livrer à des jeux à risque. Une différence de comportement entre les sexes a également été observée dans le groupe concernant ce type de jeu. En général, les garçons avaient plus de comportements à risque et adhéraient davantage aux jeux à risque que les filles, qui étaient plus susceptibles de pointer, de commenter et de regarder. La présence de commentaires de supervision était également visible, tant de la part des enfants que des adultes, ce qui intensifie la peur des enfants et finit par empêcher leur action.]]></p></abstract>
