</abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en">
Abstract This article presents the evolution of the Association of Portuguese Language Universities (AULP) as a promoter of international academic mobility through its Erasmus+ programs, with emphasis on ProCultura+, the first Erasmus+ project coordinated by AULP. ProCultura+ was designed to strengthen artistic, cultural, and pedagogical capacities in the Portuguese-Speaking African Countries (PALOP) and Timor-Leste, promoting employability in the cultural sector and inter-institutional cooperation in higher education. Between 2022 and 2025, the project involved 20 higher education institutions from seven countries (Portugal, Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, São Tomé and Príncipe, and Timor-Leste), implementing 90 mobility exchanges (45 students and 45 teachers). The program stood out for promoting gender equality, social inclusion, and cultural diversity, encouraging the exchange of experiences and the publication of scientific articles in the International Journal in Portuguese Language – RILP. Despite facing logistical challenges such as visa issuance, travel distances, and administrative difficulties, the project consolidated lasting cooperation networks and contributed to the interna-tionalization of Lusophone higher education. The conclusion of ProCultura+ led to the submission of a new phase – ProCultura+ (Phase 2) – approved for funding by the Erasmus+ National Agency to continue mobility exchanges through 2027, introducing professional internships and staff exchanges among international relations and mobility offices. The article concludes that ProCultura+ was more than a mobility program: it was a human and cultural movement that united generations of students and teachers around the Portuguese language and the transformative power of culture.
</abstract>
