A sua incidência pode ser controlada através de programas de rastreio. A plataforma BI-CSP congrega informação diversa relativa à atividade clínica nos cuidados de saúde primários em Portugal. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo verificar a relação entre a proporção de utentes com idade entre 50-75 anos com rastreio de cancro colorretal efetuado e a proporção de utentes com novo diagnóstico e a sua prevalência de cancro do cólon e reto em Portugal nos anos de 2017 e 2018, com base no BI-CSP pelo total nacional por região e por ACeS selecionados para ser percebida a distribuição dos valores da região com os ACeS selecionados.  Materiais e Métodos:  Foi consultada a matriz de indicadores do BI-CSP, sendo selecionados os indicadores 2013.046.01 FL, MORB.245.01 FL e MORB.217.01 FL. Para cada um deles estudaram-se os anos de 2017 e 2018 à data de 31 de dezembro, colhendo-se dados por total nacional, por Administração Regional de Saúde e, nestas, por Agrupamento de Centros de Saúde.  Resultados:  A proporção de utentes elegíveis rastreados aumentou de 47,01% para 50,90%, de 2017 para 2018. Identificou-se, para o ano de 2017, diferença estatisticamente significativa (p&lt;0,001) na análise por região. A incidência de cancro colorretal reduziu 0,02% entre os anos em estudo, tendo a prevalência aumentado 0,03%.  Discussão:  Proporção de utentes rastreados, incidência e prevalência estarão na dependência de múltiplos fatores. Na ausência de mais dados salienta-se a existência de plataforma agregadora.  Conclusão:  O aumento da proporção de indivíduos rastreados fica ainda aquém do desejável. Deverá prosseguir o desenvolvimento de trabalho de contínua monitorização dos resultados disponíveis.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  Introduction:  Colorectal cancer is the third most incident cancer in the world and the most diagnosed in Portugal. Its incidence may be controlled through a screening program. The BI-CSP platform contains varied information related to the clinical activity in primary care in Portugal. This essay aims to check the correlation of the number of beneficiaries in the age range of 50-75 with the existing colorectal cancer screening and the ratio of beneficiaries newly diagnosed with colorectal cancer in Portugal in 2017 and 2018.  Materials and Methods:  The BI-CSP Matrix was consulted and the 2013.046.01 FL, MOR.245.01 FL, and MORB.217.01 FL indexes were chosen. For each one of them, the years of 2017 and 2018 were studied until December 31st, and data by a national level, by the Regional Health Administration, and from them by the Health Center Grouping were collected.  Results:  The proportion of eligible beneficiaries increased from 47.01% to 50.90% from 2017 to 2018. In 2017 the study has shown a statistically significant difference (p&lt;0.001) in the analysis per region. The incidence decreased 0.02% in the years studied, and the prevalence increased 0.03%.  Discussion:  Proportion of screened patients, incidence, and prevalence is dependent on multiple factors. In the absence of more data, there is an aggregating platform.  Conclusion:  The increasing proportion of people screened is still fallen short of what is expected. Permanent work should be developed on monitoring the available results.]]></p></abstract>
