Na academia, é consenso que a educação esteja relacionada a fatores que podem definir implicações de sucesso ou insucesso escolar. Considerando aspectos relacionados à disciplina, a pesquisa ora apresentada teve objetivo de identificar e discutir a presença desse fator numa oferta de educação de qualidade. Para tanto, foi realizado um estudo comparativo de abordagem qualitativa entre 10 escolas profissionais, sendo 5 com mais sucesso acadêmico (44 indivíduos) e 5 com menos sucesso acadêmico (39 indivíduos), com base em resultados de avaliações externas. O estudo confirma a inevitabilidade da disciplina no desenvolvimento do trabalho pedagógico, ao tempo que contribui com a formação científica e profissional e concebe aportes teóricos à construção de novas pesquisas de melhoria da aprendizagem.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Today, the State of Ceará (Brazil) appears on the national and international scene as a reference for educational quality, with reference to the professional education policy integrated with high school. In the academy, it is a consensus that education is related to factors that can define implications of school success or failure. Considering aspects related to the discipline, the research presented here aimed to identify and discuss the presence of this factor for the provision of quality education. For this purpose, a comparative study with a qualitative approach was carried out among 10 professional schools, 5 with more academic success (44 individuals) and 5 with less academic success (39 individuals), based on the results of external evaluations. The study confirms the inevitability of the discipline in the development of pedagogical work, while contributing to scientific and professional training and conceiving theoretical contributions to the construction of new research to improve learning.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resúmen Hoy, el Estado de Ceará (Brasil) aparece en la escena nacional e internacional como un punto de referencia para la calidad educativa, aludiendo a la política de educación profesional integrada con la escuela secundaria. En la academia, es un consenso que la educación está relacionada con factores que pueden definir las implicaciones del éxito o fracaso escolar. Considerando aspectos relacionados con la disciplina, la investigación presentada aquí tuvo como objetivo identificar y discutir la presencia de este factor para la provisión de una educación de calidad. Para ello, se realizó un estudio comparativo con enfoque cualitativo entre 10 escuelas profesionales, 5 con más éxito académico (44 individuos) y 5 con menor éxito académico (39 individuos), en base de los resultados de evaluaciones externas. El estudio confirma la inevitabilidad de la disciplina en el desarrollo del trabajo pedagógico, al tiempo que contribuye a la formación científica y profesional y concibe las contribuciones teóricas a la construcción de nuevas investigaciones para mejorar el aprendizaje.]]></p></abstract>
