Este estudo procura compreender como o Estado angolano tem implementado aquele processo, a partir da perceção das pessoas que lecionam e estudam no 1º. e 2º. ciclos do ensino secundário na região leste. Realizou-se um inquérito por questionário a uma amostra de 408 alunos(as) da 9ª., 12ª. e 13ª. classes, e 127 professores(as) que lecionam em 11 escolas. Os resultados permitem destacar: motivos da procura educativa pela população da região; conceções acerca do que é a educação escolar, seu papel e finalidades; expectativas e transformações reconhecidas pelos participantes que decorrem do efeito da educação escolar nas suas vidas; apreciação das políticas do Estado na promoção da educação escolar pública à luz das razões que levam os inquiridos perspetivar, de modo mais ou menos otimista, a intervenção oficial na promoção da escolarização. Do trabalho realizado concluiu-se que as populações deste estudo aderem à educação escolar pelo que ela representa como hipótese de melhoria nas suas vidas, e que o papel do Estado na implementação e desenvolvimento da educação não é assunto encerrado, havendo necessidade de melhorar a rede de ensino, das instalações, e de aumentar a quantidade e qualidade dos docentes.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract In 2002, Angola began expanding school education in communities reopened after the civil war. This paper seeks to understand how the Angolan State has implemented that process, based on the perception of people who teach and study in the 1st and 2nd secondary education cycles in the eastern region. A questionnaire survey was carried out on a sample of 408 students from the 9th, 12th and 13th classes, and 127 teachers of 11 schools. The results allow us to highlight: reasons for the demand for school education by the population; conceptions about what school education is, its role and purposes; expectations and transformations recognized by the participants that result from the presence of school education in their lives; appreciation of the State's policies concerning the promotion of public education, and reasons that lead respondents to adopt more and less optimistic perspectives regarding the State's intervention in promoting schooling. The research allows to understand that the populations of this study adhere to school education for what it represents as a chance for improvement in their lives, and the role of the State in implementating and developing school education is by no means a closed matter, as there is the need to improve the territorial coverage of school education, school facilities, and to increase the quantity and quality of teachers.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen En 2002, Angola comenzó a expandir la educación escolar en comunidades reabiertas después de la guerra civil. Este estudio busca comprender cómo el Estado angoleño ha implementado ese proceso, a partir de la percepción de las personas que enseñan y estudian en el 1er. y 2do. ciclos de educación secundaria en la región este. Se realizó una encuesta por cuestionario a una muestra de 408 estudiantes y 127 profesores que imparten clases en 11 escuelas. Los resultados permíten destacar: motivos de la demanda de educación escolar por parte de la población; concepciones sobre la educación escolar, función y propósitos; expectativas y transformaciones derivadas de la presencia de la educación escolar en sus vidas; apreciación del rol del Estado en la promoción de la educación escolar pública, indicando razones que llevan a los encuestados a adoptar perspectivas más o menos optimistas sobre la intervención del Estado en la promoción de la escolarización. Del trabajo realizado se concluyó que las poblaciones de este estudio adhieren a la educación escolar como un modo de superación en sus vidas, y que el papel del Estado en la implementación y desarrollo de la educación no es un asunto cerrado, siendo necesario mejorar la red educativa, las instalaciones y aumentar la cantidad y calidad de los docentes.]]></p></abstract>
