Este artigo de revisão tem o intuito de avaliar a eficácia de algumas estratégias na redução do desperdício alimentar nas escolas. Sendo a escola o local onde os alunos fazem a maioria das suas refeições, torna-se o ambiente ideal para o desenvolvimento de projetos que consciencializem os alunos sobre condutas alimentares mais saudáveis e sustentáveis. De acordo com a revisão realizada, as estratégias do tipo participativo parecem ser das mais eficazes na mudança comportamental de crianças e adolescentes. No entanto, serão necessários mais estudos que avaliem a eficácia das intervenções a longo prazo e que tenham como objetivo principal a redução do desperdício alimentar.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The loss and/or food waste, which is considered a major problem worldwide, has been one of the cause for the imbalance of the planet and those who inhabit it. This review article aims to evaluate the effectiveness of some strategies in reducing food waste in schools. Because the school is the place where students have most of their meals, it becomes the ideal environment for the development of projects that make students aware of healthier and more sustainable eating habits. According to the review carried out, participatory strategies seem to be effective in changing children's and adolescents' behavior. However, it will be possible to study more than the reduction of the deadline and the main objective the reduction of food waste.]]></p></abstract>
