A escala Sustainable and Healthy Eating Behaviors avalia comportamentos alimentares saudáveis e sustentáveis em jovens adultos polacos. No nosso melhor conhecimento, em Portugal, desconhece-se a existência de um instrumento que avalie estes comportamentos, de forma holística, em jovens adultos universitários. Como tal, o objetivo do estudo consistiu em traduzir e adaptar transculturalmente esta escala para esta população. Após obtenção da versão portuguesa da escala, através da tradução e retrotradução, procedeu-se à sua adaptação transcultural, com a participação de 30 jovens adultos, numa entrevista semiestruturada, com a aplicação direta da versão preliminar da escala. Depois, foram realizadas adaptações às afirmações da escala, que tinham suscitado problemas de compreensão por parte dos universitários e como resultado das sugestões feitas pelo painel de especialistas. Obteve-se a versão final da escala em língua portuguesa, pelo que será possível caracterizar os comportamentos alimentares saudáveis e sustentáveis em universitários portugueses e avaliar o impacto de projetos de educação alimentar e de políticas alimentares nesta população.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT Challenges remain to improve the nutritional status of populations and ensure sustainable production and consumption patterns. The Sustainable and Healthy Eating Behaviors scale assesses healthy and sustainable eating behaviors in Polish young adults. To this day, there is no tool assessing these behaviors, having a more holistic approach, in young adult university students. Therefore, this study aimed to translate and cross-culturally adapt the Sustainable and Healthy Eating Behaviors scale in this population. After obtaining the portuguese version of the scale through translation and back translation, 30 young adults participated in a semistructured interview with the direct application of a preliminary version of the scale for cross-cultural adaptation. Then, the scale's statements were adjusted, considering problems of understanding by university students and suggestions made by a panel of experts. By obtaining the final version of the scale in the Portuguese, it will be possible to characterize the healthy and sustainable eating behaviors in Portuguese university students and to assess the impact of food education projects and food-relation policies in this population.]]></p></abstract>
