Ademais, é uma doeça que afeta todo o território brasileiro, apresentando um comportamento que varia entre epidemia, endemia e surtos. Com o período da pandemia da Covid-19, os números de notificações da Dengue caíram drasticamente, inversamente proporcional aos casos de SARS-COV-2. Diante disso, o presente estudo tem como objetivo relacionar a queda nos números de notificação de Dengue com o período pandêmico, a fim de constatar uma possível subnotificação ou declínio real da contaminação por Dengue no Brasil, considerando variáveis sociodemográficas e clínicas. No período de 2017 a 2019, nota-se uma variação de 241.880 para 1.553.546 nos casos de Dengue. Em contrapartida, de 2019 a 2021, este valor declinou para 544.765, apresentando maior predomínio no Sudeste e maior prevalência no Centro-Oeste. Por fim, são reforçadas a ideias de que houve subnotificação dos casos de Dengue, tendo em vista a emergência em Saúde Pública representada pelo COVID-19, e a redução real na contaminação pelo vírus da Dengue representam as possíveis teorias para a situação epidemilógica apresentadas por este trabalho.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Dengue is a public healthcare problem known in Brazil for an extended period, with the mosquito Aedes aegypti as its vector. In addition, it is a disease that affects all Brazilian territory, presenting, at times, an epidemic, endemic, and outbreak behavior. During the pandemic period of COVID-19, the number of Dengue notifications dropped drastically, inversely proportional compared to SARS-COV-2 numbers. Given this data, the present study aims to relate the notification downfall of Dengue with the pandemic timelapse, thus verifying a possible sub-notification or actual retraction of contamination by Dengue in Brazil, considering sociodemographic and clinical variables. Between 2017 and 2019, there is an acknowledged variation of 241.880 to 1.553.546 in Dengue cases. On the other hand, between 2019 and 2021, the value dropped to 544.765, presenting a predominance in the southeast and center-west. Hence, the idea of sub-notification of Dengue cases, considering the public health emergency estate presented by COVID-19, and the actual retraction of contamination by Dengue virus represent the two possible theories for the epidemiological situation presented by this study.]]></p></abstract>
