Nesse sentido, este artigo parte de algumas ideias presentes no ensaio “A Voz - As Vozes” da escritora, analisando-o a partir da sua interlocução com o texto O riso da Medusa, de 1975, de Hélène Cixous, sobre a ideia de “escrita feminina”. Analisa-se também um poema desconhecido intitulado “Florbela Espanca”, revelando como Maria Teresa Horta tem a poetisa do Alentejo como importante interlocutora na construção de uma genealogia feminina de escrita.<hr/>Abstract During her career, Maria Teresa Horta rethought and problematized women’s place in the world, the social dictates constructed to repress them, and the theme of women’s writing. The present article takes some key ideas in Horta’s essay “A Voz - As Vozes” and examines them in the light of their intersection withLe rire de la Méduse, Hélène Cixous’s 1975 text on the theme of female literary production. I also analyse her little-known poem entitled “Florbela Espanca”, demonstrating the extent to which Maria Teresa Horta saw Portugal’s renowned Alentejo poetess as a crucial interlocutor in the construction of a genealogy of female writing. http://scielo.pt/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&pid=S0874-68852025000200049&lng=pt&nrm=iso&tlng=pt Resumo Maria Teresa Horta viveu durante um período da infância na ilha do Faial, Açores. Lembranças desse período se fazem presentes em A paixão segundo Constança H. (1994) e nos contos “Lídia”, “Azul-cobalto”, “A ilha” e “Ondas” (2014), que constituem o corpus de análise deste estudo. Objetiva-se mapear trechos que apresentam imagens-lembranças evocativas de momentos únicos vividos na ilha e refletir sobre elas a partir do conceito de autoficção de Doubrovsky (2014)e da tipologia estabelecida por Colonna (2014). Observou-se que o curto período vivido por Maria Teresa Horta na ilha do Faial deixou na sua memória imagens-lembranças marcantes.<hr/>Abstract Maria Teresa Horta lived for a brief period of her childhood on Faial Island, Azores. Memories of this period are present in A paixão segundo Constança H. (1994) and in the short stories “Lídia,” “Azul-cobalto,” “A ilha,” and “Ondas” (2014), which constitute the corpus of analysis for this study. The aim is to map the passages that present memory-images evocative of unique moments lived on the island and to reflect on those through the concept of autofiction proposed by Doubrovsky (1977) and the typology of Colonna (1989). Assumindo uma matriz epistemológica feminista, abordo a questão entre sujeito-texto-corporalidade, dialogando com pressupostos teóricos de Luce Irigaray e Hélène Cixous. Neste contexto, proponho uma releitura de Ema assente na dialética entre a autopoiese da personagem principal e as quatro estratégias de agenciamento e criação ontológica embasadas no corpo identificadas: resgate do eu e mimese; autoerotismo; relação especular com a mãe e, por fim, maternidade.<hr/>Abstract This critical essay explores the question of écriture féminine through Maria Teresa Horta’s novel Ema. Grounded in a feminist epistemological framework, it examines the relationship between subject, text, and corporeality, drawing on theoretical premises advanced by Luce Irigaray and Hélène Cixous. Within this context, I propose a rereading of Ema based on a dialectic between the protagonist’s autopoiesis and four body-based strategies of agency and ontological creation: the recovery of the self and mimesis; autoeroticism; a specular relationship with the mother; and, finally, motherhood. http://scielo.pt/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&pid=S0874-68852025000200083&lng=pt&nrm=iso&tlng=pt Resumo Este ensaio propõe uma leitura ecológica e ecofeminista da poesia de Maria Teresa Horta, defendendo que a emancipação das mulheres se entrelaça com uma forte consciência ecológica. A natureza surge como força atuante e aliada, metáfora de resistência corporal e cósmica. Ligada ao corpo feminino, é dimensão viva de memória e regeneração. Pela fusão entre erotismo, matéria e linguagem, a poesia transforma a experiência amorosa em afirmação ética, figurando o corpo como território político e ecológico, onde dominação e renovação coexistem num horizonte de cuidado e continuidade da vida.<hr/>Abstract This essay offers an ecological and ecofeminist reading of Maria Teresa Horta’s poetry, arguing that her struggle for women’s emancipation is deeply intertwined with ecological awareness. Nature appears not as backdrop but as active force and ally, a metaphor for embodied and cosmic resistance. Linked to the female body as memory and regeneration, it frames the body as political and ecological territory, where domination and renewal coexist within a horizon of care, reciprocity, and life’s continuity. http://scielo.pt/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&pid=S0874-68852025000200097&lng=pt&nrm=iso&tlng=pt Resumo Este artigo aborda duas reinvenções d’Os Lusíadas (1572): Lusíadas (1971), um livro-objeto criado por Lourdes Castro, e a instalação Ilha dos Amores (2006), de Joana Vasconcelos. Ao analisarmos como as artistas entrelaçam as linhas da história nacional e do cânone da arte, propomos que as suas obras se inscrevem no que Foucault denomina de heterotopia, uma vez que podem ser entendidas como contra-lugares, onde espaços (culturais) reais são representados, contestados e invertidos. Estas obras podem assim contribuir para uma teoria comparatista trans-temporal, bem como para uma urgente re-avaliação do passado e presente portugueses.<hr/>Abstract This article focuses on two reinventions of Camões’ The Lusiads (1572): Lusíadas (1971), a book-object created by Lourdes Castro, and the installation Love Island (2006), by Joana Vasconcelos. In analysing how both artists restitched the threads of national history and the art canon, we argue that their works engage with Foucault’s notion of heterotopia, as they can be seen as counter-sites, where real (cultural) spaces are represented, contested, and inverted.
