Resumo

TORDIN, Giseli. The roots of Brazil in the voices - Women of afrodescendence. Faces de Eva. Estudos sobre a Mulher [online]. 2024, n.51, pp.121-139.  Epub 30-Jan-2025. ISSN 0874-6885.  https://doi.org/10.34619/z3hg-kxjj.

This work intents to present how Conceição Evaristo, Beatriz Nascimento, Stela do Patrocínio and Aparecida de Jesus Ferreira insert the Afro identity at the center of historical interpretation to question a modernity based on the oppression of the Black woman’s body. Their texts are part of the Portuguese curriculum at Yale University, which seeks to promote antiracist teaching through the voices of women of African descent. At the end, it is indicated a pedagogical approach to comprehend, through their works, how to decolonize both the gaze and the word from its sense of violence within the correlation between language and culture.

Palavras-chave : decolonial feminism; Portuguese teaching as an additional language; Afro Brazilian writers.
