This article contributes to a comparative and transnational women and gender history of the 20th century and to contemporary history, through the analysis of Elina Guimarães’s transnational feminist activism, focusing on a manuscript, La Femme Portugaise, and some letters, in the dictatorial period after May 28, 1926. Elina Guimarães was general secretary of the Conselho Nacional das Mulheres Portuguesas (CNMP - National Council of Portuguese Women) affiliated with the International Council of Women (ICW) and the International Woman Suffrage Alliance (IWSA), which gave her an international dimension and made her a transnational feminist.
