BRITO, Joaquim Soares do; SPRANGER, André; FESSENKO, Alexandre and REGO, Paulo Amaral. Luxação traumática da anca: Epidemiologia, tratamento e resultados. Rev. Port. Ortop. Traum. [online]. 2015, vol.23, n.1, pp.50-58. ISSN 1646-2122.
Traumatic hip dislocations are rare injuries resulting from high-energy road-traffic collisions. These injuries have a high incidence of associated injuries, which requires a thorough trauma assessment and immediate reduction, preferably in the first six hours after trauma. The reduction and surgical reconstruction of acetabulum and femoral head are critical to maintain joint congruity, to reduce the risk of avascular necrosis and post-traumatic arthritis. The purpose of this paper was to obtain an epidemiological profile of traumatic hip dislocations and associated injuries, in a patient series treated at the same institution. The aim was to compare surgical options, security profile of the surgical techniques and evolution to post-traumatic arthritis.
Keywords : Traumatic hip dislocation; epidemiology; surgical treatment; outcomes.
