The article analyzes collective dynamics as one of the ways to understand the precarious nature of the experiences lived currently by workers. The result of two analytical exercises is presented: the first refers to exploring the notion of precariousness associated with the concept of informality in the evolution of Latin American social thought and as an operator for the study of contemporary work and precarious work experiences, considering the subjective dimension. The second, to reflect on the multiple meanings of the collective in these experiences, presenting the findings of the review of research carried out in the last decade. As a result of the interplay of these (meta)analytical paths, it is concluded that collective dynamics occupy a key place in job insecurity and its possibilities for transformation.
