The choice of menstrual hygiene method, like all health decisions, should be informed, based on the best available evidence regarding risks and benefits. The menstrual cup is a reusable device designed to be inserted into the vagina during menstruation. Seen as a more sustainable option, as well as potentially safer, there has been an increasing interest in it. This Scoping Review aims to analyze the available evidence on the advantages and disadvantages associated with the menstrual cup, exploring variations associated with different contexts, as well as alternative uses of this device.
