MORAIS, Elisabete Paulo. A bibliometric analysis of smart cities and sustainability using VOSviewer. RISTI [online]. 2024, n.55, pp.5-20. Epub 30-Sep-2024. ISSN 1646-9895. https://doi.org/10.17013/risti.55.5-20.
A smart and sustainable city is an innovative city that uses Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and other means to improve the quality of life, the efficiency of urban operations and services, and competitiveness while ensuring that the needs of present and future generations are met in economic, social, environmental, and cultural terms. This article aims to discover the main contributions of the scientific literature on smart, sustainable cities. To this end, using the Scopus database, a bibliographic search was carried out on sustainable smart cities. This search resulted in a list of 6891 documents, which were then analyzed using VOSviewer software, including various analytical methods and units of analysis. The keyword analysis identified six thematic groups: (1) Quality of Life; (2) IoT, big data and cloud computing technologies; (3) energy efficiency; (4) information and communication with urban growth; (5) climate change and pollution; and (6) urban transport.
