Abstract

CAMARGO, Klauren Godoi Araújo; FERREIRA, Allan  and  PAULA, Gisângela Faria de. Training Transfer in Leader and Manager Training: A Literature Review from 2020 to 2022. RISTI [online]. 2024, n.56, pp.50-65.  Epub Dec 31, 2024. ISSN 1646-9895.  https://doi.org/10.17013/risti.56.50-65.

Organizations are increasingly investing in training for leaders and managers to enhance training transfer. Previous reviews on this topic covered studies up to 2020. This study identifies the state of knowledge up to 2022 and proposes a research agenda. Using a narrative review following Cronin et al. (2008), we analyzed articles from 2020 to 2022 in the CAPES Portal and Web of Science databases. The results indicate a predominance of quantitative studies, research field's characteristic, and highlight the importance of individual variables (self-efficacy), organizational variables (support from peers, colleagues, and supervisors), and leadership-related variables in the transfer process. These findings corroborate recent reviews, reinforcing the relevance of individual factors. As a research agenda, we suggest broadening the application of the transfer model to diverse contexts and analyzing mediating variables to explore relationships between leadership self-efficacy, leadership models and performance, and the role of transfer climate.
