ZALDIVAR-COLADO, Aníbal; TRIPP-BARBA, Carolina  e  AGUILAR-CALDERON, José Alfonso. Artificial Intelligence and Cinematic Creativity: A Review of the Impact of ChatGPT on the Evolution of Screenwriting. RISTI [online]. 2025, n.58, pp.20-35.  Epub 30-Jun-2025. Through a systematic review of the literature, this article aims to analyze the implications of AI in cinematic creativity, with a specific focus on the role that ChatGPT plays in the work of screenwriters. The study uses a qualitative and documentary approach to assess the benefits and limitations of using ChatGPT in screenplay creation. The findings reveal that ChatGPT improves productivity and facilitates the generation of coherent dialogues and plots, but it presents limitations in terms of emotional depth and original creativity. Furthermore, using AI raises ethical and labor challenges, including the possible displacement of human screenwriters. Despite these obstacles, the research concludes that the collaboration between AI and human creativity can be beneficial if used complementarily. The need for a regulatory framework that protects screenwriters stands out while also harnessing the technological advantages of AI to ensure a balance between technological innovation and the preservation of human creative value.

Palavras-chave : Artificial intelligence; screenwriting; ChatGPT; cinematic creativity; human-machine collaboration.
