History: First issue published in May 1987, the “Arquivos de Medicina” is the official journal of the “Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP)”, the “S. João” hospital and the “Portuguese Society of Biomedical Clinical Engineering ”. The journal was a combined initiative of the “Students Association of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (AEFMUP)” and a group of doctors of the “S.
