Objectives of the journal:
Revista Diacrítica is the official journal of the Centro de Estudos Humanísticos [Centre of Humanistic Studies] of the University of Minho, and is subdivided into three different volumes, which correspond to the research lines of the research centre: Literature Sciences, Language Sciences, and Philosophy and Culture. The principal aim of this journal, which undergoes a rigorous refereeing system and has international visibility, is to publish national and international research of excellence in line with its research lines. It considers articles for publication by both members and non-members of CEHUM.

History of the journal:
The first issue of Revista Diacrítica was published in 1986 by the Centro de Estudos Portugueses (CEP) [Centre of Portuguese Studies] of the University of Minho. In 1994 the Centro de Estudos Humanísticos da Universidade do Minho (CEHUM) [Centre of Humanistic Studies of the University of Minho] is founded to replace CEP as a result of an adaptation to new contexts. CEHUM continued some of the work initiated by CEP, including the publication of Revista Diacrítica. From 2003 onwards, Diacrítica is subdivided into three yearly volumes, each one the responsibility of the three research areas within CEHUM: Literature Sciences, Language Sciences, and Philosophy and Culture. To ensure the level of research excellence, Diacrítica undergoes a rigorous refereeing system. Diacrítica is available in national bookshops, and, since 2012, it has also been freely available online, in CEHUM’s webpage. Between 1986 and 2002, 16 issues were published, and between 2003 and 2013, 30 issues were published (10 volumes with 3 numbers each).
