^lpt^aNeste artigo revemos a literatura correspondente à teoria e à investigação que relacionam a teoria da crença no mundo justo e a vitimização secundária. Numa primeira fase é exposta a teoria e são apresentados os estudos que estiveram na base do seu desenvolvimento. Em seguida são referidos os estudos em que o grau de crença no mundo justo de cada observador é medido através de uma escala. Estes estudos permitiram avaliar o efeito do grau de adesão à crença no mundo justo dos observadores na vitimização secundária e no bem-estar psicológico. São também apresentados os estudos que introduzem a categorização na relação entre a CMJ e a vitimização secundária. Finalmente discute-se a relação entre a CMJ e os níveis de processamento da informação.^len^aThis article presents the literature relative to the theory and empirical findings relating the belief in a just world (BJ W) theory with secondary victimization. We first summarize the BJW theorie and the studies from which it was built. Secondly, we present the studies in which the observers' BJW level is measured by a scale. These studies allowed an evaluation of the level of the observer’s BJW in secondary victimization and psychological well-being. We also present the studies that introduce the categorization variable on the relation between BJW and secondary victimization. Finally we discuss the relation between BJW and levels of information processing.
