The aim of this article is to present an analysis of the works of Brazilian visual artist Mauro Espíndola and his creation process of the butterflies’ bio engravings that are part of the Animalis Imaginibvs exhibition. The reflections arise from an interviews with the artist and contributions from authors, artists and scientists, who dialogue with the similarities and differences, the (a)symmetries between art and science.
