MORAES, Tiago Castaño. Heritage, industry and beer: looks at the old Antarctic Brewery in Joinville/SC, Brazil. []. , ser2, 13, pp.97-122. ISSN 2183-3176.

This article performs a historical survey of an old beer factory in the city of Joinville, Santa Catarina, Brazil. The history of its creation goes back to the end of the 19th century and involves an immigration process that took place in southern Brazil after 1850. The article dialogues with the context of national industrialization and brings economic and social data regarding the production of beer and labor movements in Joinville. Despite the fact that the factory operated until 1998, the research explored the period between its creation (in the late 1880s); its acquisition in 1948 by the Antarctica brewery based in São Paulo (one of the oldest breweries in the country); and its patrimonialization process started in 2007.
