Abstract

ALVARES, Cristina. A pulsão no pensamento mítico: Freud, Lacan e o estruturalismo na potière jalouse, de Claude Lévi-Strauss. Diacrítica [online]. 2013, vol.27, n.2, pp.209-223. ISSN 0807-8967.

This paper examines the place and role of the concept of drive within the structural analysis of myths as conceived by Lévi-Strauss. We will focus upon providing answers for the following questions: What is it at stake in the appropriation of this most radical Freudian concept by Anthropology and particularly by the logical-narrative notion of mythical thought? What kind of changes underwent the notion of drive when redefined as a mythical category in The Jealous Potter? Which are the epistemological implications of all these changes?

Keywords : Drive; myth; sexual; structure; psychoanalysis; anthropology.
