This article presents a summary of an exploratory study whose theoretical framework concerns the social representations theory. The research focuses on the representation of children by kindergarten teachers and primary school teachers through the creation of three contexts of report: the child, the child before schooling and the child at school. To collect the information analysed in the study, the author adopts two different techniques: semi-directive interviews and free association of words, and their respective organised introspection.
