Abstract

Young people see future as something inevitable, have fears and have hopes and ambitions according with their experiences of life and cultural characteristics. Through an inquiry about opinions and values that individuals associated to the current process of development designated by globalization we classified answers. The questionary was conducted between university students of Portugal, Spain, Macau, China, Germany, Mozambique and Kenya. The results indicate that almost one third of young people fear from the outcome. However, aren’t the cultural characteristics that define the afraid from the future. Who suffer the higher level of anxiety about future is in greatest number are students of Germany and Macau, and the Africans represent the lowest number of it. Those that have higher expectations are from Portugal and Spain and from the African countries.
