Abstract: In this article, we conduct the first systematic and comprehensive analysis of the incorporation of Women’s, Gender and Feminist Studies (WGFS) in higher education curricula in Portugal. Through a content analysis of course syllabi and study program plans available on institutional websites, we draw a picture of incipient, accessory and precarious incorporation of WGFS, typical of the early stages of the field’s institutionalization. The study shows that there is still a long way to go for an effective and consistent integration of WGFS in higher education in the country.
