Abstract

BERTOLAZZI, Marco; BARCELLOS, Paulo  and  BORELLA, Margareth. The organizations ethical climate and the environment theme. Rev. Portuguesa e Brasileira de Gestão [online]. 2011, vol.10, n.3, pp.2-13. ISSN 1645-4464.

The paper explores the environment as a component of the ethical climate of organizations. Based on an adapted form of the indicators proposed by the Ethos Institute for Business and Social Responsibility, we used data from a survey conducted among student/employees from companies based on the northeast region of Rio Grande do Sul. We developed a theoretical research about the ethical climate and environmental theme into the context of organizations sustainability. The statistical analysis shows that the only component of the ethical climate that can explain 26.4% of the dependent variable - employee satisfaction within their respective companies - is the internal public. Cluster analysis considering the component of the environment shows that 20% of the sample companies are proactive in the context of environmental sustainability.

Keywords : Environment; Ethical Climate; Organizations.
