Abstract

This article interprets the Biden Administration’s policy toward China and the Asia-Pacific region as the us seeks to restore its global standing. Is starts present Biden’s goals towards China and the “free and open Indo-Pacific” in light of Trump’s legacy, international transformations, and his vision of a “stable and open international system”. Then, it is described the escalation of tension between the us and the China-Russia axis and the attempt to mobilize America’s allies and democratic partners. Finally, it analyzes the dilemmas and limits of Washington-Beijing competition and the new possibilities for Washington’s articulation both with its allies as well as its competitors.
