Abstract

BUCHELI, María Guadalupe Veytia; MACIAS, Armando Sánchez; MESA, Maritza Librada Cáceres  and  HORTA, José Frank Vázquez. Latin American perspectives on the use of ICT in university students. RISTI [online]. 2023, n.52, pp.74-96.  Epub Dec 31, 2023. ISSN 1646-9895.  https://doi.org/10.17013/risti.52.74-96.

The use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) is increasingly present in different areas of human life, and the educational field is no exception, as they favour the performance of activities and tasks, and their use also contributes to the development of digital and thinking skills. The aim of this article is to describe how university students perceive the use of ICT in education. It was carried out in the first semester of 2023 with 182 university students from four Latin American countries (Mexico, Guatemala, Ecuador and Bolivia). It is approached from an empirical-analytical, quantitative, descriptive-transversal and non-experimental approach. A questionnaire was used, applied using Google Forms. The results reflect statistically significant differences in the use of ICT in education, in the use of programmes and in digital literacy.

Keywords : education; university students; ICT; university.
